La Grigne Patisserie recently opened a physical store in June 2021 after operating on an online preorder basis. If you’re a fan of croissants, here you can find items such as Salmon Mentaiko Croissants!
The bakery aims to infused extreme dedication and precision in creating French pastry together with the Shokunin spirit of Japan.
Bakery Near Maxwell Food Centre
Everything at La Grigne Patisserie is made in-house, from the bakes to even the decorative toppings you find, such as glazed orange peels. One of the reasons they opened a physical storefront is to allow customers to witness the baking process for all their bakes.
There’s no seating area here, so it’s more of a buy and go kind of place.
The bakery is located just across the road from SILK Tea Bar and beside the newly opened NOM Gelato.
La Grigne Patisserie Menu
La Grigne sells croissants, muffins and a range of bread loaves.
Their muffins such as the Chocolate Lava muffin is filled with a chocolate ganache. They look a bit taller compared to the usual muffins because they require the height for fillings.
They also have a raisin and orange cream cheese muffin.
For bread lovers, they have loaves of cinnamon brioche and a chocolate babka, which comes in mini versions for both.
What caught our eyes were the trays of croissants that looked visually attractive. We learnt from the owners that their croissants contain more than 30% butter so you can expect buttery flavours and a flaky texture.
Salmon Mentaiko Croissant
One of their signature savoury croissants is the Salmon Mentaiko Croissant ($5.5). Inside, there was a tiny piece of salmon marinated with honey shoyu.
The mentaiko on top of the croissant adds a nice salty taste to the overall croissant.
Almond Frangipane Croissant
The most expensive croissant on their menu, at a price of $6, is the Almond Frangipane Croissant.
It’s topped with a generous amount of chopped almonds and has a cut across horizontally, with a layer of almond frangipane spread. We especially loved the buttery flavours in this croissant.
Chocolate Lava Croissant
The Chocolate Lava Croissant ($4) is dusted with cocoa powder and topped with a glazed orange peel that’s made in-house. The inside is filled with chocolate ganache that’s not too sweet, really chocolatey and smooth.
Mini Cinnamon Brioche
While we thought the Cinnamon Brioche ($3.5) would just be a normal loaf of bread with hints of cinnamon, there was actually a cinnamon swirl on the inside of the loaf. It wasn’t too sweet and paired great with a cup of black coffee.
Cheap Croissants in Singapore
When it comes to visually appealing croissants, one would usually think of the high price points that come along with them. However, for La Grigne Patisserie, one thing we realized was that the prices were pretty affordable. A normal butter croissant was priced at $3 and the most expensive one was $6.
While the bakery might be small in size, the bakes were definitely huge in quality.
