Enjoy Wines And Cheese Pairings With Limited-Time Menu From Salt & Palm

Gear up for a night of eatin’ and sippin’ with a new seasonal cheese and wine menu pairing by Salt & Palm in Joo Chiat! Their special menu will be available now till 31 December 2023 for both lunch and dinner.

Salt & Palm Seasonal Menu

The specialty menu features 4 cheese-based dishes, each designed to pair with their selection of over 40 wines.

WineSwings & Roundabouts NV Sparkling

There’s a colourful selection of both natural and conventional wines, and we tried the Swings & Roundabouts NV Sparkling ($19/glass).

It’s a blend of Chenin blanc, Sauvignon blanc and Semillion. We enjoyed how crisp and refreshing it was, with an almost juicy finish.

Cheese Tempura

The Cheese Tempura ($12) featured two fritters. The first is Bastoncino Affumicato Cheese, smoked with beechwood. This had a great savoury and smokey finish which was complemented by the crunch of the batter.

The second fritter features Caciocavallo Silano DOP, a curd cheese with a stronger aged flavour. This was paired with jackfruit for a sweet contrast, and paired perfectly with their pineapple sambal.

Cheese Choux Puffs

A unique savoury take on the classic French pastry, the Cheese Choux Puffs ($15) are filled with Bastoncino Affumicato Cheese and Caciocavallo Silano Cheese custard.

The puffs themselves are made with gruyere. We enjoyed the unique creamy, nutty and smokey flavour from the mix of cheeses!

Knafeh

Salt & Palm’s take on the classic on Arabic dessert Knafeh ($15) uses a mix of mozzarella and cream cheese for the filling. It was drizzled generously with gula melaka syrup and topped with acai.

Despite all the elements, this wasn’t too sweet! The creaminess of the cheese and crunch of the pastry paired with the cold acai.

Cheese Platter

The Cheese Platter ($38) featured three specialty cheeses – Manchego Black Garlic from Spain, the Vacherousse from France and La Gabelou from Germany.

These were paired with crackers, nuts, berries, their pineapple sambal and jackfruit jam. We enjoyed the curation of the cheeses, particularly the Manchego Black Garlic! It was also fun to create our own personal pairings, making for a good activity to do with friends.
