Khao x Ginger: One Michelin Star Thai Food Buffet At PARKROYAL Beach Road

PARKROYAL has kickstarted a number of exciting partnerships, starting with the One Michelin Starred Thai restaurant Khao! Ginger at PARKROYAL Beach Road is hosting a selection of classic Thai dishes by Chef Andy Yang, available only until 29 October.

Khao x Ginger Menu

Thai buffet at PARKROYAL

The Flavours of Siam & Home buffet is only available for dinner. It’s priced at $78++/Adult and $38++/Child from Monday to Thursday, $88++/Adult and $48++/Child for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. P.S. UOB Members are entitled to 20% off their total bill when paying with a UOB Card!

There are a total of nine dishes available to try, five of which are hot dish stations and four a la carte order dishes.

Goong Ob Woonsen

The hot dishes include the classic Pad Thai Goong and Goong Ob Woonsen, river prawn glass noodles. There are also hearty meaty dishes Gaeng Kiew Wan Nuea Nong Lai (Beef Shank Green Curry), Massaman Nua Nong Gae (Lamb Shank Massaman Curry) and Phad Gaprao Gai:Moo (Chicken/Pork fried with basil).

The most memorable was the Goong Ob Woonsen, with a savoury umami flavour from the gravy seeped into the noodles! Their Massaman Nua Nong Gae was also quite interesting, we didn’t expect this type of curry in Thai cooking. It was rich and meaty with minimal gameiness.

The Phad Gaprao was spicy and would go perfectly with rice. We also recommend trying the four a la carte dishes:

Khai Jiew Poo

The classic Thai omelette Khai Jiew Poo is served with a generous amount of crab meat and accompanying siracha sauce. This was fluffy, eggy and complemented by the meaty crab chunks – a satisfying dish!

Yum Pladouk Foo

Another favourite of ours is the Yum Pladouk Foo, a spicy mango salad topped with crisp fluffy fried catfish. We enjoyed the contrast of the refreshing salad and light fish which had a slightly creamy finish!

Khao Soi Gai

Khao Soi Gai is a curry noodle dish, this iteration is served with wide yellow noodle and chicken pieces. The gravy is robust with a spiced flavour, coating the noodles well!

Tub Tim Grob

For dessert, there’s the Tub Tim Grob – boiled water chestnut in tapioca starch served in coconut milk. The chestnut pieces were crunchy, sweet and slightly chewy; pairing well with the creamy coconut. A pleasant finish to the Thai meal!
