CP Foods x HUE: CP Celebrates 40th Anniversary With Restaurant Pop-Up & 9 Exclusive Dishes

You’ve probably heard of or grew up eating CP Food products, with their most famous item being the shrimp wantons! They are celebrating their 40th birthday with a pop-up at HUE Restaurant in Balestier from 25 October to 17 November 2024. 

Chicken Wonderland

Did you know that CP is a Thai brand? It’s apt that HUE Restaurant, known for its fusion Thai cuisine, hosts the pop-up! 

The restaurant will be decorated with CP-themed decor including chicken-themed decals and wallpaper. Look out for the fluffy chicken plushies at your seats (more on that later)

There will also be a life-sized tuk-tuk photo spot where you can snap pictures. 

CP x HUE Pop-Up Menu  

The pop-up menu will present 9 dishes with signature CP products plus sneak previews for upcoming CP products not yet in Singapore!

They are elevated and garnished with HUE’s housemade sauces and seasonings. 

For appetiser bites, there are two new products to try: Mini Ebi Katsu ($4 for 4pcs) with housemade tamarind sauce and New Orleans Ribs ($4 for 4pcs), chicken ribs that have been chargrilled for a smoky finish. 

You can opt for Pok Pok Gai ($18) to share, with three CP products – Signature Chicken Ribs, Roasted Mexican Wings and Japanese Crispy Gyoza – plus a choice of 3 housemade dipping sauces!

The 6 sauce choices include Truffle and Thai Chilli Sauce, but our recommendations are the Basil and Tamarind. 

The Siam Drumlets ($12) feature the classic CP Roasted Hot Wings dusted with a zesty Thai seasoning powder with lime and lemongrass for a citrusy flavour. 

We liked the 555 Gai ($18) that had a spicy, herby and garlicky sauce coating the CP Chicken Cakes. These had a lingering kick that made it extra addictive! 

Over The Moon Gai Yang

For something heartier, the Over The Moon Gai Yang ($15) and Coconutty Chicken Salad ($19) feature the CP Chilled Chicken Boneless Leg. 

The Coconutty Chicken Salad was one of our favourites, with a creamy but citrusy and refreshing dressing. It had added texture from fried shallots, lemongrass and fresh kaffir lime.

The Kung Moo-Noodles ($20) feature the first of two CP products coming to Singapore in 2025: Sam Gler Sauce! 

It came with a serving of CP Jumbo Shrimp Wantons in HUE’s beef broth and wanton noodles tossed in the sauce. We liked how it coated the noodles, giving a peppery and umami-packed flavour.

The second product is a CP Pandan Custard, used in the Thai Pandan Dream ($16). It was a bread pudding coated with custard and baked with gula melaka syrup. 

This tasted as good as it sounded, decadent but not too sweet or overbearing. The pandan custard is also vegan! 

Free CP Chicken Plushie

With every $30 spent on the CP Pop-up menu and $60 spent on the regular HUE menu, patrons can get a free mini chicken plushie with a CP badge. 

Thai Pop-Up In Jalan Besar

CP was probably a big part of all our childhoods and it We were impressed by how HUE elevated humble CP products and think it makes for a good way to reminisce and enjoy their food!
