Alles Gute zum Geburtstag, Audi House of Progress! The Audi Singapore direct-to-consumer concept space in Telok Ayer is celebrating its first anniversary with a refreshed menu at Burnt Ends Bakery

The bakes are all German-inspired, with touches of regional flavours. It starts with the German Waffle ($6), served simply without syrup or cream.

Despite the plain looks, the waffle was one of our favourites! It was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside with a slight sweetness that pairs perfectly with coffee.

Other decadent sweets include the Apple Rum and Raisin Escargot ($8), which is reminiscent of a car tyre, and the Apple Strudel Cake ($10), with a dense, moist centre

Packed with spiced apples and a buttery streusel topping, we think this should be enjoyed warm for a better texture.

The Black Forest Cruffin ($12) is a homage to the classic German cake, featuring a dark chocolate cream and Kirsch soaked cherries.

The silky, slightly bitter chocolate balanced the punchiness of the cherries; all rounded out by a sweet vanilla chantilly cream and flaky pastry.

There are also three savoury items. Inspired by German street food, the Chicken and Leek Wrap ($14) featured sweet roasted leeks which added a pleasant crunch!

The Black Forest Ham and Pretzel Sandwich ($18) was a hearty option, packed with sauerkraut and a tossed salad that complemented the salty ham.

We liked how the bread stayed chewy and fragrant without that toughness usually found in pretzels.

Another favourite of ours was the Bavarian Sausage and Onion ($14). Between the meaty sausage, sweet caramelised onions and mustard, this was salty, fatty but really satisfying!
