Artbox returns to Singapore Expo, bringing a blend of excitement and culinary delights for two exclusive weekends, from January 26th to 28th and February 2nd to 4th! Here’s what you can look forward to at Artbox.
Artbox 2024
Artbox is divided into three main areas, each offering a world of entertainment and fun! Here’s an overview of the event space:
Entertainment & Experiences
Courtesy of The Arcade People, enjoy beloved games such as Basketball and Air Hockey at the Arcade Alley. You can also try your luck with the claw machines!
For those who prefer a more relaxed gaming experience, head over to the Gamestop Arena at the Open Plaza. Here, you can play their extensive collection of Switch and VR Games like Mario Kart! Everyone gets to enjoy complimentary gameplay, with the option to extend your playtime at $10/hour for Switch games and $30/hour for VR experiences.
Other entertainments include Teo Heng’s Karaoke-in-a-Container, an AI Photobooth and caricatures by Jelly Caricature. Or you can try your hands on workshops like candle making and chocolate painting from the renowned chocolatier Janice Wong!
Art Installations
The event space was filled with Instagram-worthy locations, including a central avenue stacked with shipping containers featuring art installations such as Cloak’s Stop and Stop Look & Cross!
Be sure to keep an eye out for the various murals scattered around the area.
Retail
After capturing your memorable moments, indulge in retail therapy with local and international artisans from Malaysia, Thailand, and South Korea displaying an array of clothing, bags, jewellery, and even accessories for your pets!
In the Thailand section, you will find crocheted items and an assortment of adorable items like stickers and phone chains. There are also several clothing shops flown in from Thailand like Loma Whale and Rust Brand.
Head to K-Avenue for a taste of Korea, featuring delicacies like Tteokbokki and Jeju snacks! You will also have the opportunity to rent and wear traditional Korean Hanbok, complete with a complimentary Polaroid!
F&B
You’ll be spoilt for choices at Artbox 2024 with a variety of cuisines like Thailand and Korean.
The festival market offers familiar favourites such as Big Big Fries and 2 Ninja 1 Pig. Alongside these, you’ll find popular vendors like I Love Taimei, Mala in a Cup, and The Swag Social! Renowned coffee spots like Equate Coffee will also be there to provide a caffeine fix.
We tried the Soft Shell Crab Taco ($10) from Home of Sushi, which was a unique blend of sushi and taco. This dish featured a whole soft-shell crab that’s been freshly deep-fried, pairing well with the sauce!
The Oden ($10) from Monki was brimming with a variety of ingredients, including sausages, fish cakes, and fish balls, all packed in a comforting broth with a subtly sweet flavour. The MAMA Tom Yum ($9) from MAMA Day also offers a hearty experience!
