The White Label Halal Buffet Menu

The weekend trolley buffet features six different trolleys, offering seafood dishes like Scallops Au Gratin and Halibut Parmentier, as well as meat options like Wagyu Beef Bourguignon and Forty Garlic Chicken.

The trolleys will rotate throughout the dining area, allowing you to refill once you’ve completed your first round of the six trolleys!

Starters

The White Label- Starters

For starters, we were served a basket of assorted bread to pair with four different types of sauces: Harissa Hummus, Honey Mint Yogurt, Chicken Pâté, and Sambal Romesco.

What stood out to us was the Chicken Liver Pâté, with its velvety texture and rich, savoury flavour that paired perfectly with the crispy toast. The Sambal Romesco also left a lasting impression with a subtle tanginess.

Salad & Soups

Salade Niçoise with Tuna Tataki

The first trolley to arrive featured their Salade Niçoise with Tuna Tataki. The dish had a zesty sauce that added a pleasant tang, while the crunchy vegetables and seared tuna tataki provided a refreshing contrast.

Soupe Vichyssoise

We also tried the Soupe Vichyssoise, a classic leek and potato soup. It was smooth and creamy, with a delicate flavour, making it a refreshing yet comforting start to the meal.

Carbs

Macaroni Au Gratin

Next, we had the Macaroni Au Gratin, which had a sweet crust on top that paired nicely with the creamy, mashed-like sauce. The macaroni was cheesy with a slight peppery kick, which we enjoyed.

Seafood

Halibut Parmentier

The seafood trolley was one of our favourites among the six. The Halibut Parmentier had a spicy kick with a mashed top and a sauce that reminded us of Assam. We loved how meaty and flaky the fish was and we wouldn’t mind a second portion of it!

Scallops Au Gratin

The Scallops Au Gratin were large and had a firm yet tender bite, tasting fresh and satisfying. The cheesy topping added a savoury flavour which complemented the natural sweetness of the scallops.

Meats

Wagyu Beef Bourguignon

The meat selection was another one of our favourites. The Wagyu Beef Bourguignon was tender but the carrots were a little hard. The flavourful gravy stood out, complementing the meat with a well-balanced, savoury taste that tied the dish together.

Forty Garlic Chicken

The Forty Garlic Chicken was succulent, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture and skin that delivered a rich burst of flavour. Despite its name, the dish wasn’t overly garlicky, offering more of a buttery, savoury taste that wasn’t too overwhelming.

Whole Roasted Leg Of Lamb

The Whole Roasted Leg of Lamb had a slightly uneven char, resulting in some areas being more smoky than others. However, the meat itself was tender and lacked any gaminess, which was enjoyable.

Desserts

The dessert selection included three options: MSW Durian Pengat Bread Pudding, Coconut Banana, and Marshmallow Brownies.

MSW durian Pengat Bread Pudding

The MSW Durian Pengat Bread Pudding leaned on the sweeter side, with a creamy durian pengat that could have been more puréed with chunks of durian flesh for added texture.

The bread pudding itself was soft and custardy, with a slight crisp on top. The durian flavour was prominent, making it a treat for durian lovers.

Coconut Banana

The Coconut Banana featured layers of thinly sliced bananas, which could have been softer, but we appreciated that the coconut taste wasn’t overly sweet or heavy.

Marshmallow Brownies

The Marshmallow Brownies had a rich chocolate flavour topped with mini marshmallows but were dry. It would be better if they were fudgier.

Murotsu Bay Oysters

Each diner is entitled to two complimentary Murotsu Bay Oysters, which are large and plump. Though slightly briny, they were still relatively fresh. Those who aren’t fans of oysters may want to skip this and explore other offerings instead!

Weekend Trolley Halal Buffet

If you’re looking for a reasonably priced halal buffet this weekend that serves up seafood dishes, The White Label could be your next go-to spot to enjoy with family and friends!
