Sushiro Opens At Jewel Changi Airport With International Delights From All Around The World

Founded in 1984, Sushiro is the largest Japanese conveyor belt sushi restaurant chain with over 670 outlets worldwide. The latest Sushiro outlet joins the list of their 9 restaurant outlets in Singapore alongside 2 Petit takeaway concept outlets.

Here’s What To Try At Sushiro

Sushiro Jewel Interior & Booth Seat

Here at the 162-seater sushi restaurant in Jewel, you can expect over 100 varieties of quality sushi and Japanese dishes. With the new opening of Sushiro Jewel, you can also find a series of international fare with freshly flown ingredients from around the world.

Ireland – Wild Bluefin Fatty Tuna

Sushiro has multiple tuna items on its menu, but the Wild Bluefin Fatty Tuna is undoubtedly the best among all of them. A tender texture with just the right amount of fat, this is a dish worth going for.

Norway – Salmon Basil Mozzarella

Who knew mozzarella and basil paired so well with salmon sushi?

Singapore – Chicken Rice-inspired Nigiri

One of Singapore’s most representative dishes in the form of a nigiri. You can expect the prominent ginger flavours you get in a plate of chicken rice. However, we didn’t want to dip this in wasabi or soy sauce but craved dark soy sauce instead.

Alaska – Madara Shirako (Milt) Gunkan

Also known as fish sperm, this was surprisingly delicious (despite its name). You can expect thick and creamy textures.

Myanmar – Soft Shell Crab

Japan – Fatty Amberjack

Another one of our favourites was the Fatty Amberjack. The slice of fish was fresh and firm.

There are also 2 new items that have been specially created to commemorate the opening of the new outlet.

Captain Jumbo Fried Shrimp

A creative spin on an aeroplane, the Captain Jumbo Fried Shrimp features a piece of jumbo fried shrimp and two slices of tamago on top of a bed of sushi rice.

Jewels From The Sea

Consisting of opulent ingredients from various countries like abalone, scallop, ikura, and matumaezuke (seasoned herring roe and kombu mix), Jewels From The Sea is an umami-packed dish that will make you go back for more.

Other Items We Tried At Sushiro

Torched Soy Sauce Engawa

A quick search on the internet will tell you that Engawa is the meat that comes from the tail fin muscle of a flatfish. Despite that description, the Torched Soy Sauce Engawa melts in your mouth in the most amazing way possible and has made its way to becoming one of our favourite dishes at Sushiro.

Salmon Sashimi

Salmon with Mentai Cheese

The Salmon with Mentai Cheese is a hit among Singaporeans and you’ll be glad to know that it’s available at Sushiro Singapore now!

Exclusive Desserts

Sushiro has also partnered with Hattendo for desserts, which includes exclusive items like Chocolate Peanut Butter Cream Bun and Gula Melaka Cream Bun. Our pick is the Gula Melaka Cream Bun, which features luscious gula melaka cream with a perfect balance of sweetness.
