rumeL: $5 Sourdough Neapolitan Pizza at Bugis+ With Singapore Exclusive Flavour

We might have just found Singapore’s cheapest sourdough neapolitan pizza!  rumeL is a new eatery in Bugis+ offering freshly-made sourdough neapolitan pizza – with prices starting from $5.

Decorated with Lemur motifs, a nod to the brand name spelled backwards, rumeL’s menu  crafted by Hersing Culinary in partnership with Australia’s top pizza chef, Silvo Gropelli, and paired with coffee brewed by Brewers Cup Champion, Harry Ko.

rumeL Pizza Menu

rumeL’s pizzas are available in two sizes: 6 inches and 10 inches.

Their pizza dough is naturally fermented for 48 hours, making it healthier to digest than regular pizza. Even the cheese for their toppings and pizza sauces is shipped from Italy!

From 8am to 11am, you can enjoy their $5 breakfast menu featuring unique local-inspired flavours like Kaya Butter Pizza, Chicken Floss, and Crushed Peanut Butter

After 11am, the prices begin at $6.80. Their all day menu is quite extensive, with flavours like Hot Honey Cheese ($6.80), Meat Lovers ($7.80), Shakshuka ($8.80), and more.

They’re also known for their coffee, roasted by Australia’s Brewer Cup Champion Harry Ko.

Coffee starts from $2.80 for a shot of Espresso, and other drinks include Iced Coffee ($5), Kopi ($1.80), Matcha Latte ($5).

There are also tea options like Jasmine Green Tea, Ginger Orange Black, and Peach Oolong ($3.80).

Kaya Butter Pizza

A Singapore exclusive, the Kaya Butter Pizza ($5) is a modern take on our local Kaya Butter Toast. It was generously slathered with Kaya and topped off with butter that melted quite quickly!

While it was tasty, we think it might be an acquired taste. The flavours were familiar yet unexpectedly odd on a pizza, but definitely worth trying!

Beef Bolognese Pizza

The Beef Bolognese Pizza ($6.80) contained beef bolognese, mozzarella, onions, and mint yogurt drizzle. It’s a well-balanced option for those who enjoy bold, hearty flavours.

The sourdough crust was light yet chewy, with a nicely blistered edge that offered a satisfying crunch. The 6 inch pizza is filling enough for one person, perfect as a solo meal!

Hot Honey Cheese Pizza

The Hot Honey Cheese Pizza ($6.80) was our top pick! It came with cheddar and mozzarella, finished with a mildly spicy hot honey drizzle, though we didn’t find it spicy at all.

It was the perfect sweet and savoury mix.

Mozza B.L.T Pizza ($6.80)

The Mozza B.L.T Pizza ($6.80) contains lettuce, tomatoes, bacon, and finished with a drizzle of honey mayo for a sweet-savory balance.

This is a pizza version of a classic BLT, but the execution felt a little underwhelming. Overall the flavours leaned a bit flat compared to the bolder options on the menu. It’s not a bad pick, but perhaps not the most memorable of the bunch.

Wild Mushroom Pizza

The Wild Mushroom Pizza ($8.80) consists of wild mushrooms and mozzarella, and it’s a simple yet flavourful option for mushroom lovers.

rumeL Coffee

Beyond pizzas, rumeL also takes their coffee seriously.

We got to try the Hot Latte ($5), which was surprisingly good, the coffee was smooth, rich, and well-balanced. Not too bitter too!

Their Iced Matcha Latte ($5) was enjoyable – it had a nice earthy flavour without being overly milky or diluted. For the price point, both drinks delivered solid quality and paired nicely with the pizzas.

$5 Pizzas in Singapore

rumeL actually exceeded our expectations, considering the price of their pizzas starting from just $5! If you’re looking for something affordable and delicious, you should definitely check out rumeL!
