3 Korean Restaurants in Singapore Have Been Designated as Outstanding Restaurants by Korea

In a recent announcement by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Korean Food Promotion Institute, seven restaurants have been designated as outstanding (해외 우수 한식당), three of which are in Singapore.

Outstanding Korean Restaurants in Singapore

The restaurants are evaluated based on a few factors. This includes factors such as the quality of the Korean food served, hygiene and service, and the use of Korean ingredients to promote Korean food culture.

The three restaurants in Singapore that have been given this top honour are Michelin-starred NAE:UM, Korean family-run Seoul Restaurant and popular Korean restaurant brand Um Yong Baek.

Naeum Restaurant

Interior of Naeum 2025

If you’re looking for a modern interpretation of Korean cuisine, Naeum is one of the best places. They execute it exceptionally well, highlighting the elements of Korean food through their ingredients and sauces, and extending to the environment.

The 1 Michelin star restaurant has also recently undergone a renovation to reflect a more hanok-inspired interior and dining experience.

Seoul Restaurant

Located at Conrad Orchard Singapore, Seoul Restaurant is a Korean family-run business that offers hearty Korean dishes, from soups to charcoal Korean BBQ. Their charcoal is air-flown directly from Korea for the best experience.

There’s even a buffet option for those who want to experience what Seoul Restaurant has to offer. It includes over 40+ menu items, ranging from Wagyu to Iberico Pork.

Um Yong Baek

Hailing from South Korea, Um Yong Baek has established a presence here in Singapore with two outlets in the Telok Ayer neighbourhood. During the day, the restaurant serves piping-hot bowls of Gukbap. In our opinion, these are arguably the best bowls of gukbap you can get here in Singapore.

At night, the restaurant transforms into a K-BBQ grill house, with a menu focused on pork Korean BBQ.

Outstanding Korean Restaurant List by Korea

Good news for Singaporeans, because we do have quite an extensive list of Korean restaurants to experience authentic K-cuisine right in our homeland.

The other restaurants on this list are: 3 from Los Angeles (Baroo, Daedo Sikdang, and Soowon Galbi), and 1 from Paris (SOON GRILL Champs-Élysées).

Along the way, there are plans to extend the list to nearly 100 restaurants by 2030. Till then, maybe plan a trip to one of these restaurants if you want a taste of Korea!
