Craving For Corndogs Because Of Start Up? Here’s Where To Get Korean Corndogs in Singapore

Have you been watching Start Up? Besides the huge debate of whether you’re Team Han Ji Pyeong or Team Nam Do San, we’ll be talking about another key character in the show: Dal-mi’s grandma. As you know, she ran a stall called Cheong-Myeong Corndog which became a food truck when they moved to Seoul.

Korean style corndogs are classic street food and are usually sprinkled with sugar and drizzled with some ketchup and/or mustard. Here’s where you can find Korean Corndogs in Singapore:

Where To Get Korean Corndogs in Singapore

82 Bunsik

Food at 82Bunsik Jubilee Square

82BUNSIK is PlusEightTwo’s brand new concept that opened in Jubilee Square, Ang Mo Kio. Good news for Easties, they will also be opening several new outlets in Tampines, Bedok and Punggol soon.

82 Bunsik offers a range of Corndogs such as the Cereal Corndog, which is coated with a layer of cereal before being deep-fried to crisp perfection.

You can also find other Korean street food items such as Tteokbokki and Croffles, which were a huge item this summer in Korea.

+82 PlusEightTwo

Before 82 Bunsik, Korean cafe +82, or PlusEightTwo was where you could get Korean corndogs easily.

The cafe is home to lots of K-pop events, such as dedicated cup sleeves for various K-pop groups.

For now, you can still get Corndogs at +82, but we heard that there will be a revamp to the menu in January 2021. Hopefully, we’ll see more new menu items then. They will also be launching a brand new concept, 82 Place at the Rendezvous Hotel outlet, where the cafe transforms into a Korean style pub from 7 pm.

Gangnam Corndog

Located in a corner at The Central in Clarke Quay, this is where Gangnam Corndog first started. The Korean-owned eatery sells various corndogs such as the Mozza Corndog which has a nice mix of mozzarella cheese and half a hotdog.

You can also find Gangnam Corndogs in 82 Bunsik and +82 PlusEightTwo café at Rendezvous Hotel.

Kong Cafe

While the cafe did not originally have corndogs on their menu, they’ve introduced it for the school holidays. You can get a taste of Old School Korean street food with their Cheesy corndogs which are available on weekdays only.

The Cheesy Corndogs at Kong Café are slightly different as they aren’t covered in sugar. Well, this only means you get to experience the savoury flavour of the cheese inside!

We also tried some of Kong Cafe’s menu items such as their Bulgogi Bagel and Bulgogi Ramyeon in this article here.

Chunz

Chunz is a Malaysian chain selling Korean corn dogs and the brand has recently landed on our sunny shores over at GR.iD! Choose from corndogs covered in crispy Korean ramen or potato cubes, drizzled with your choice of sauce such as Korean BBQ, Chilli, Ketchup, or Mayo.

Shake Shake In A Tub

Shake Shake In A Tub has launched their corndog series, made using CP brand chicken sausages! The corndogs also have mozzarella in them so you can do a cheese-pull! On top of that, you can choose what sauce you want from options like Mala, Truffle and Curry!

Korean Corndogs in Singapore

If you’ve yet to start on Start Up, grab a couple of corndogs before watching the episodes because you’ll be tempted to bite into one of these pretty soon.

The corndogs are great to snack on, do give them a try if you’re nearby any one of these places. For more Korean cafes in Singapore:
