Quick facts: KIAP KIAP Chicken Club & Bar is a bar-restaurant at 1 Liang Seah St, #02-15, Singapore 189022, which opened on 1 August 2026. We tried their signature fried chicken, sides, dessert and cocktails; our overall rating is 3.9/5. Dishes start from $6 and cocktails from $15. Liang Seah Street, tucked behind Bugis Junction, is mostly known for its run of Chinese seafood and zi char restaurants, but KIAP KIAP Chicken Club & Bar is the outlier. This is a fried chicken and cocktail bar that stays open past midnight, with a retro diner-inspired interior and a menu of freshly fried American-style chicken.

What Is KIAP KIAP Chicken Club & Bar?

KIAP KIAP Chicken Club & Bar is co-founded by three Singaporeans: Lucas Chua, who handles the drinks; his wife Aderline Che, a former Twitch streamer who shaped the space and the “vibe”; and James Wang, a 20-year F&B veteran who put together the food menu.

Together they envisioned a space that was communal, with food, drink and a board game corner that inspired conversations and a good time.

Where Is KIAP KIAP?

KIAP KIAP Chicken Club & Bar sits at 1 Liang Seah St, #02-15, Singapore 189022, on the second floor of a shophouse. It’s a short walk from Bugis MRT station.

The Vibe: Ambience At KIAP KIAP Chicken Club & Bar

Despite its smaller square footage, the space is a vibe. It’s all red with striking retro, diner-style tables and an open bar where the drinks are made.

The room is a sultry red for most of the evening, switching to yellow after 9pm to unwind down for the night.

Even the bathroom is decorated with a disco ball, adding to the relaxed ambience!

There’s a “community couch” where the team takes digicam-style photos of guests, with a digital copy sent afterward. A community mirror is left open for guests to write messages on, and there’s drinking and bonding games on hand.

The space can also be booked out for groups or events of up to 48 pax, making it good for birthdays or celebrations.

What We Tried At KIAP KIAP

We ordered across three categories: fried chicken, sides, and dessert.

Fried Chicken

Original Fried Chicken ($12) is their signature item. Marketed as ‘the best fried chicken’, this is made with a secret recipe. Every chicken is cooked to order and served piping hot.

The skin was crisp but not oily, and the meat was juicy and well-seasoned. It reminded us of KFC – which does serve as its inspiration – with a herby, savoury flavour.

Is it the best? Not immediately, but it’s one of the best executed fried chickens we’ve had!

The serving size is two sizable pieces; a thigh and a drumstick. It can comfortably feed one person or even be shared amongst two.

Something unique is Duck Fat Mala Fried Chicken ($14), fried in duck fat and finished with a mala seasoning as a nod to the Chinese restaurants along the rest of Liang Seah Street.

This is spicy – the kind of spice that kicks you immediately and lingers on your lips with a painful sting. We found the chilli oil lacking in flavour and depth, making it hard to enjoy the chicken fully.

Between the two fried chickens, we’d recommend the original.

Sides

The Jenny’s Udon (Chicken, $12) is named after co-founder James Wang’s mother and modelled on a dish she used to cook him.

This was our favourite dish of the day. Cooked homestyle with plenty of vegetables and seasoned chicken pieces, this was homey and satisfying. It even had a subtle wokhey flavour that reminded us of zichar cooking.

Our only comment is that the noodles were on the oily side, but that’s what makes food tasty! The portion size is also generous for the price, easily sharable between up to three people.

The King’s Truffle Poutine ($20) had great visuals but fell flat on the truffle taste. We enjoyed the fries though, which stayed crispy despite being drenched in beef gravy!

If you like cheese sticks, the Hot Mozzarella ($12) is worth ordering. It was served with a raspberry sauce instead of the usual marinara.

The tangy sweetness paired well with the greasy, salty cheese, making it a nice salty-sweet pairing.

Dessert

Their Banana Pudding ($6) is served tableside, finished with Biscoff crumbs.

The layers of creamy caramelised banana pudding and cake made this indulgent but too sweet, a perfect end to a savoury meal. We recommend getting this!

The Drinks Menu

We tried three drinks alongside the food. Kaya Daiquiri ($20), the signature drink, features a fat-washed pandan butter and rum with a house-made pandan syrup.

The pandan flavour didn’t come through as strongly as expected, instead lingering as a subtle aftertaste.

Those who prefer sweet drinks will like the BabyGirl ($22) with Patron Silver tequila, elderflower and raspberry.

Despite the tequila base, it was refreshing and fruity, a nice complement to the greasy foods.

Signature Milkshake, Olive Oil & Sea Salt ($8) was a well-executed vanilla-forward milkshake. The extra virgin olive oil added pleasant fruity notes that complemented the creaminess of the drink.

Other cocktails include the Wasabi Silk ($22), a clarified milk punch with citrus and a background wasabi heat; alongside two mocktails: KIAPKIAP’s Plum Rootbeer ($15) and Virgin Smoky Yuzu ($15).

There’s also draft beer (from $13) from People People Brewing Co., the gastropub and brewery run by Dave Pynt, the chef-founder behind one-Michelin-starred Burnt Ends

Our Verdict

Our rating for Kiap Kiap Chicken Club & Bar: 3.9/5

The fried chicken wasn’t mindblowing, but simple and well-executed. We preferred dishes like Jenny’s Udon, which were heartier and layered in its seasoning.

The portions are good for the price, making this a value-for-money restaurant in Bugis.

The ambience and service were also top-notch and make it worth a visit for celebrations or casual friend gatherings!
