After successful outlets in Tanjong Pagar and Somerset, Great Nanyang expands with a third outlet in Kent Ridge! The eatery specialises in hearty Singaporean-Malaysian cuisine in a nostalgic setting.
Filled With Olden Day Trinkets
The new space in Geneo Singapore Science Park spared no expense in their decor. Every corner was packed with familiar items and trinkets, including an old-school TV set, typewriter and even cassette tapes! Outdoor seating is also available, with a repurposed mini van doubling up as a table and merchandise corner.
The seating area is filled with traditional street signs and old tea cups. There’s even a plastic table with an umbrella, reminiscent of outdoor seating in kopitiams.
Great Nanyang Geneno Menu
The menu remains the same as their other outlets, except for a few exclusives! You can check out the full menu on their Instagram.
There is a new lok lok-inspired Fresh Fruit Rojak (from $1.50), where you can pick skewers of fresh fruit and vegetables that you enjoy with rojak sauce and peanuts.
It’s a novel take on traditional rojak. We recommend getting the crispy cracker for that extra crunch!
They also have a selection of stuffed steamed buns with sweet and savoury fillings. The options include Otak-Otak ($4.80) and Mashed Taro ($4.80) encased within warm fluffy bread.
For mains, there is a new Peanut White Curry Noodle ($8.90)! The broth is white and coconut-based, but you can season it with the side of curry paste for an extra kick.
Other options include the fragrant Nanyang Style Dry Curry Prawn (5pcs, $18) and Penang Asam Curry Fish Head ($32.80), which are good for sharing.
Signature items like the Kaya Butter Toast (from $2.70) and Chicken Berempah Leg Dry Mee Siam ($8.90) are also available here!
