Draft Land Singapore: Enjoy Cocktails On Tap & Taiwanese-Inspired Snacks At This New Bar

Popular and renowned cocktail bar Draft Land Singapore is opening along Purvis Street. Originating from Taiwan, this dynamic collaboration with Nutmeg and Clove sees a selection of 20 cocktails on tap, alongside Taiwanese-inspired snacks in a sleek and contemporary setting.

One Of The Best Bars in Taiwan

In case you didn’t know, Draft Land was first launched in ZhongXiao Taiwan back in 2018 by Drinks Lan, a beverage R&D company co-founded by bartender Angus Zou. It was the first bar in Asia to pioneer cocktails on tap and was ranked #45 in Asia’s Best Bars 2019.

The new outlet in Singapore marks the fifth Draft Land outpost after Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Draft Land Singapore Review

The space along Purvis Street proved to be a sleek and contemporary space, with minimal interior design that combines elements of wood, metal, and brick, making it feel like a very sophisticated space.

With their specialty being cocktails on tap, the bar counter is rid of the usual bottles of hard liquor, but instead, what you’ll find are wall taps that dispense specific cocktails. Cool.

The menu offers a range of cocktails, with drinks going from 4% alcohol to 24% alcohol. In commemoration of the World’s 50 Best Bars announcement happening in Singapore, Draft Land is also offering 6 exclusive cocktail recipes crafted by renowned bartenders from around the world for the month of October.

Highlights include the Oolong Tea Collins by Antonio Lai of Quinary, Hong Kong, Margarita Spritz by Matt Whiley of Re-, Sydney, Peach & Coke by Demie Kim of Zest, Seoul, and Soul of Osaka by Hidetsugu Ueno of High Five, Tokyo.

What we truly enjoyed about Draft Land is how you’re able to go up to the Draftender (Draft + Bartender) and they’ll recommend drinks based on what you like, and their sample service! Being able to explore and try out a variety of cocktails before you order is definitely a plus point.

We tried the Peach & Coke by Demie Kim of Zest, Seoul, which is an exclusive for the month of October, and truly enjoyed how refreshing it was – a combination of Brandy, Vodka, Peach Tea, and Bitters. A close competitor was the Oolong Tea Collins, which had a beautiful blend of Vodka, Oolong, Plum, and Osmanthus.

Other cocktails include a Fancy Iced Tea made using Roku Gin, Elderflower, Rum, and Sparkling Wine, alongside more unique ones like a Popcorn & Coke, made with Maker’s Mark, Popcorn, Salted Caramel, and Fernet Branca.

All the cocktails are priced from $18 to $20.

Taiwanese-Inspired Menu

Apart from sipping on your favourite concoctions, Draft Land Singapore also offers a Taiwanese-inspired menu that pays homage to their famed Taiwanese outlet.

You’ll find items such as Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings ($14), Fermented Pork Ribs ($16), Spiced 5 Peppers Soft Shell Prawns ($14), and more. We tried a few items such as the Braised Pork Arancini ($14), a nice take on the classic braised pork rice.

The Wagyu Cold Noodles ($21) are tossed in a toasted sesame sauce and topped with a soy-cured yolk, making it a creamy delight while the Egg Pancake ($18) features Aged Cheddar and Jamon Iberico Ham.

If you’re a fan of dessert, make sure to have the Alishan Bubble Tea ($14) which is actually Alishan Milk Tea Gelato with Gula Melaka Pearls and Pecorino Cheese. The cheese adds a nice savoury flavour to the overall dessert, and the milk tea fragrance slowly creeps on you with each mouthful.
