Coexist Coffee Co Launches New Menu Items such as Prawn Gambas and Edamame Hummus

Soon after the photos of Coexist Coffee Co started circulating on social media platforms, it became one of the hottest cafe spots in Singapore despite its ulu location.

After a few months since opening, the team has made use of the heightened alert period to revamp their existing menu, offering more options for their customers.

Coexist Coffee Co New Menu

Previously at Coexist Coffee Co, we tried the Iced Hojicha, so this time we decided to go for something matcha-based instead.

Dirty Matcha served at Coexist Coffee

The Iced Dirty Matcha Latte ($6.5)  had a thick matcha base that required some force for it to dissolve and mix. It was creamy and thick, and you can really feel the bitterness of the matcha.

We also had the seasonal filter coffee, Indonesia Wanoja ($11), from the 2021 auction lot. The beans are from Mount Kamojang in Indonesia, and the word ‘Wanoja’ means woman in Sundanese.

The notes of cempedak and starfruit are really prominent in this coffee, which was a pretty cool experience for us.

Fish Sando

The new Fish Sando ($12) comes with brioche toast, tempura battered white fish, and dill yoghurt. The size is perfect for sharing, and it reminded us a bit of menbosha. We loved how crisp the toast was!

Edamame Hummus

When we first saw Edamame Hummus ($8) on the menu, we were slightly apprehensive. But this dish turned out to be one of our favorites, and we kept going back for seconds. The hummus had bits of edamame which added a nice texture to the dish.

The furikake on top of the hummus further accentuated the nuttiness of the dish and tasted amazing when spread on top of the sourdough bread.

Prawn Gambas

Served with prawns, mushrooms, poached garlic, and sourdough toast, the Prawn Gambas ($15) is a great sharing dish as well. We especially loved the texture of the plump prawns.

Squid Ink Fried Rice

While this is not a new menu item from Coexist Coffee Co, a quick scan on their social media and you’ll know it’s one of their signature items.

Plating-wise, it’s visually appealing, with the amazing contrast between the squid ink fried rice and the garlic aioli sauce.

It was a dish that played with textures a lot. The garlic aioli added a nice smoothness to the rice, and the ikura popped in our mouths every now and then. The dish had a subtle spiciness that everyone can accept, and is packed with seafood such as baby squid and paprika prawns.

Banana 170

The highlight of our meal came in the form of a dessert known as Banana 170. Why 170? That’s the temperature at which the banana gateau is baked.

Served together with a soy sauce caramel, cinnamon cream, and caramelized walnuts, everything came together to provide an amazing end to the meal.

The texture of the banana gateau, especially on the sides, was crisp perfection on the outside with the inside being soft and fluffy. The cinnamon cream was also not too sweet, which we thought would go great as a topping for coffee.

If you’re thinking of what to get, this dessert probably won’t fail you.

Rooftop Cafe in Hillview

Kudos to Coexist Coffee Co for constantly trying to upgrade their menu for their customers. While we were there, the kitchen had some hiccups which caused some delays. However, the service staff immediately apologized to the customers and offered a free beverage to make up for it.

While the location might not be the most accessible, it’s definitely a great spot to make you feel like you’re in Korea, hunting for hipster cafes.
