We visited on Friday and got to see the whole baby lamb rotisserie! The staff slice it fresh with each order and finish it on the grill before serving. The meat selection included chicken, steak and even charcoal-grilled satay.

They even had a small DIY chicken pita station complete with veggies and hummus.

There was also an interesting mix of hot food. The ones that stood out to us were the spicy tteokbokki with chicken and mala mussels!

There’s also a dessert set-up with freshly made croffles and a seafood station featuring sushi, sashimi and different donburis. They even have a drink station with slushies and fruit-infused water.

What We Tried

We sampled a bit of everything (literally) and here are our favourites.

The lamb rotisserie impressed us! The meat was tender, well-seasoned and had minimal gameiness with a nice smokeiness from the grill. We also recommend getting the satay with the peanut sauce, which was fragrant and elevated the flavour of the meat.

They also have this speciality crispy pratha. This is also a must-try, especially with their housemade dahl! The pratha was airy and flaky which held onto the savoury, flavourful dahl.

We felt the sushi and sashimi were underwhelming, but found their donburi quite memorable!

For dessert, the freshly made croffles really hit the spot. They were served with peanut butter, jam and ice cream; crispy and slightly chewy. They also had a variety of kueh and small cakes to choose from.

Mediterranean Buffet In Chinatown

Overall, we found Chara Brasserie’s selection unique with a few standout items! The menu rotation seems interesting for the pricing, making this a good option for corporate gatherings or a meal with friends.
