Bibim Deli: DIY Bibimbap & Fresh-Made Banchan At This Korean Eatery In Suntec City

While other Korean restaurants in Singapore bring the heat and spice with K BBQ and fried chicken, Bibim Deli in Suntec City focuses on something simpler: banchan. The humble Korean eatery specialises in side dishes that are made fresh daily.

What Is Bibim Deli?

Bibim Deli is a Korean eatery in Suntec City offering DIY bibimbap bowls with housemade banchan (Korean side dishes). 

It’s a concept by Korean chef Min Yohan, owner of a successful banchan brand 도시곳간 (Dosigotgan) in Korea. His expertise also landed him a spot in the Korean reality show Culinary Class Wars

This store in Singapore marks Chef Min’s first overseas venture and a new addition to the Korean eats in Suntec, alongside names like Bulgogi Syo and noci bakehouse

Bibim Deli Menu

Bibim Deli offers over 15 types of banchan. Everything is made fresh daily, curated from Chef Min’s library of over 1000 banchan recipes. 

The menu rotates weekly, but some of the banchan you can look forward to include:

Two special banchan were featured on Culinary Class Wars: Cucumber Salad and Green Bean Shiitake, which you can now try here! 

There is also a hot banchan selection, with classic Korean-style proteins like Bulgogi with Onion (Yangpa Bulgogi) and Korean Fried Chicken with a Soy-based sauce or Spicy sauce. 

The store follows a pay-by-weight system, priced at $3.88 nett/100 grams

Every order starts with 150 grams of rice (not inclusive in the final weight), which you load with your banchan of choice, before paying at the counter. 

Each order includes one bowl of seaweed soup and free-flow rice, which we find a nice touch! 

You can opt for no rice and only take the banchan, which follows the same price.

What We Tried 

The experience was fun! The rice was dispensed from a special machine and it was hard to choose between the array of choices. 

We got a bit of everything and recommend the japchae and stir-fried kimchi. 

The two banchan featured on Culinary Class Wars were also really good and we recommend getting them!

The flavours were simple but well-executed, with soy sauce and sesame oil adding a rich and uniquely Korean taste. 

The Soy Marinated Egg took us by surprise! With a jammy yolk and subtle but savoury flavour from the marinade, we would happily purchase these as a la carte banchan.  

For proteins, we liked the Jeyuk Bokkeum, but think it could be balanced with some sweetness. 

Between the fried tonkatsu and bulgogi, the bulgogi stood out more for its sweet and smoky flavour that went well with rice. 

It’s meant to be mixed – hence the bibim – and we agree that it tasted better together than separately (unlike cai fan).

This wasn’t half of the menu and we think part of the fun is getting to experiment with combinations! 

With so many choices of banchan, you can fully customize it to your liking. 

Is Bibim Deli Worth It?

Yes, Bibim Deli is worth it as a fast and fuss-free lunch spot in Suntec City. The price might be a bit steep for some but we can attest to the quality, taste and authenticity of this Korean cuisine.
