Let’s Enjoy The Countryside! by JR East Hachinohe Train Depot

Join the JR East train crew for a barbeque with various delicious seafood by the beautiful Tanesashi Coast while learning about their local railway, food, and kanpai with “Hassen” Japanese Sake included in the VIP Tour Package ($40/pax).

The VIP Tour Package ($40/pax) includes a virtual tour with priority engagement with the JR East train crew, a 300ml bottle of “Hassen” sake with free home delivery.

Don’t worry, viewers without the VIP Tour Package ticket can still watch these webinars via live stream on JAPAN RAIL CAFE’s Facebook.

A Train Conductor’s Life in Fukushima by JR East Fukushima Train Depot

Specially curated by the JR East Train conductors themselves, experience what it’s like to be a JR East train conductor. From “driving” their trains to sight-seeing the beautiful countryside of Fukushima Prefecture, you’ll be captivated by their lifestyle and scenery.

The VIP package ($30/pax) includes a virtual tour with priority engagement with JR East train crew, traditional “Kokeshi” craft doll DIY set, the original JR EAST itinerary timetable, personalised souvenir name tag, handwritten note from the JR East train crew and a small gift from JR EAST with free home delivery.

Dine-In at The Japan Rail Cafe

From 1 – 31 October 2021, The Japan Rail Cafe is offering a special selection of ekiben (railway bento), while stocks last!

Choose from Teriyaki Chicken Wappameshi, Grilled Scallop Wappameshi, and a kids version that’s modeled after the Class E956 experimental Shinkansen train!

While the wappameshi ekiben sold at The Japan Rail Cafe is made with styrofoam and not thin sheets of bent wood, we’re not complaining! This is probably the closest we can get to Japan and hopefully, everyone will get to try the real deal in Fukushima once we can travel to Japan!

Grand Lucky Draw

You can also stand a chance to win a pair of ANA economy class return air tickets from Singapore to Tokyo! How to join? Simply watch the various webinars throughout the 3 days and watch out for unique codes that will be flashed during the webinars.

Each unique code can be used for 1 chance in the lucky draw event. Watch all the webinars and find as many codes as you can to get a higher chance of winning. Other prizes include Japanese autumn snack boxes and $20 worth of Japan Rail Cafe vouchers.

Despite the recently updated Vaccinated Travel Lanes (VTL), Japan is still not listed as one of the countries within the scheme. However, with this virtual tour, you can explore and travel Japan in the comfort of your own home!
