The Great Bay Fiesta 2022: Live Circus Acts, Uncle Ringo Carnival Games, Snow-Themed Pop-Up And More

The Great Bay Fiesta is back and better than ever! After a three-year hiatus, the fiesta is back in full swing with 20,000 sqm of fun, food, and play at the Bayfront Event Space.

Happening now till 1 January 2023, here’s what you can look forward to at the fiesta!

The Great Bay Fiesta 2022

There are five sections to the fiesta, giving you plenty of time to explore and enjoy! Here’s an overview of the event space:

The Great World Carnival by Uncle Ringo

Everyone’s favourite carnival rides by Uncle Ringo are back! Have a blast with the lineup of nostalgic carnival rides like Big Carousel, Pirate Ship, Bumper Cars and more.

Those who enjoy carnival games can also step up to earn some mega plushies. We tried variations of ring toss and ball toss but unfortunately left empty-handed. There are also inflatable bouncy castles that are perfect for kids to explore and run around!

This year, Uncle Ringo has collaborated with OpenSea to create a bouncy castle inspired by the design of the Prime Ape Planet NFT. Bridging the gap between technology and play, see if you can spot the monkey bouncy castle!

The Great Food Fiesta

No carnival is complete without food, and you’ll be spoilt for choice at The Great Food Fiesta. The space is designed like a pasar malam meets food court, with a variety of stalls and plenty of seating.

There are over 35 local and international food brands to choose from, with over 10 brands flown in specially from Thailand.

We tried the Truffle Wagyu Beef Bowl ($15) from Karubi which came with flame-grilled Wagyu beef, a creamy truffle sauce and onsen egg. It was fatty, creamy and satisfying, pairing well with the Thai Milk Tea ($5 for M, $8 for L) and Fried Platter ($15) from Baan Apple.

For dessert, we tried Mango Sticky Rice ($8) which came with a generous serving of glutinous rice! The mango was sweet and the coconut cream was the icing on top – definitely reminiscent of the mango sticky rice you find in Thailand!

You can also enjoy Ben & Jerry’s and Magnum ice creams at their own booths! Snag a Ben & Jerry’s Cookie Dough Peace Pop or Magnum Mini Cup to beat the heat. Most of the stalls accept cashless payment but do bring along cash as some still require it.

The Great Cirque des Cascades

A highlight of this year’s fiesta is definitely the live circus show from Gandey’s Circus! The 80-minute show is aptly titled Around The World in 80 minutes, showcasing a variety of jaw-dropping stunts and performances by extremely talented performers from Europe.

We didn’t manage to catch the full lineup of acts that include the Perez Motorbiker Group or Duo Adrelina, but we were kept on the edge of our seats the entire show! There were also many funny audience interactions with the clown Pedro who is sure to be a hit with the kids.

There are different timeslots for the show at 2 pm, 4.30 pm and 7 pm, so you can plan accordingly!

Ice Magic: The Great Fantasy on Ice

Is the heat too much to handle? Hide away to Ice Magic: The Great Fantasy on Ice, a winter-themed wonderland that’s -15 degrees! There are winter jackets and boots provided so you don’t need to worry.

The entire expanse has been transformed into an icy playground. There’s the Snow Section, where you can enjoy ‘fresh’ snow made by snow-making machines in the Beijing Winter Olympics.

The Ice Section boasts a whole selection of activities like a 4.5m high ice slide, Ice Bowling, cycling rink and more! If you ever wanted to experience an almost authentic version of Winter, this is definitely the place to go.

The tickets for entry are priced separately and can be purchased here

The Great Tesla Electric Light Show

The Great Bay Fiest is also hosting Singapore’s First Ever Tesla Electric Light Show – showcasing their first electric Vehicle (EV) partner! The lineup will feature Tesla’s Model 3, Model Y and Tesla Supercharger to put on a light show with its lights programmed to beat in sync with the music.

Tesla enthusiasts can also book a test drive of the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y! Register your interest for the test drive here
