Tomacado: Aesthetic Flower-Themed Restaurant In Orchard With In-House Florist & Healthy Menu

When we first heard the name and concept of Tomacado, we were skeptical. The successful restaurant chain from China takes its name from two things: tomato and avocado.

Despite its unusual name, Tomacado brings a refreshing and unique flower-themed dining concept to Paragon Shopping Center

Aesthetic Flower-Themed Interior

The restaurant space is decorated like a garden, full of flower imagery: from the fresh flower bouquets on every table to the oriental-inspired wall murals.

The star is the ornate peony centrepiece with delicate purple petals. Peonies represent prosperity and wealth, making it a fitting choice as the main motif!

The Tomacado team also engaged eight expert artists from China to produce custom, peony-themed art pieces scattered throughout the space.

There’s even a florist at the entrance where both patrons and the general public can come by to get fresh flowers!

Tomacado Singapore Menu

The combination of tomato and avocado is scientifically shown to multiply their health benefits, which inspired the name and wellness-forward menu.

It’s an extensive menu with options ranging from salads to pasta and pizzas; making it good for sharing.

For something light, choose from salads like Roasted Beetroot & Quinoa Salad ($20) and Sesame-Crusted Tuna Salad ($28).

Their main options include Pan-seared Iberico Pork Rack ($38) and Sukiyaki-Inspired Angus Beef Pasta ($32).

There are also Singapore-exclusive items: Pandan Crusted MBS 3/4 Tenderloin ($53), Fiery Seafood Curry on Rice ($38) and Seared Tiger Prawn with Crispy Pita ($29) in a laksa-based broth.

Their drinks and desserts are also picturesque, with items like Grape “Oolong” Jelly Panna Cotta ($14) and Blue Butterfly Pea Sparkling Soda ($15).

Appetisers

Their Signature Cured Salmon ($28) had a light olive oil-based dressing, which made it quite appetising.

We also had the Honey Roasted Pumpkin Salad ($24), packed with chickpeas, arugula and beans. It was simple but hearty and a good side option to bulk up the meal.

Mains

A signature item is the Tomacado Signature Roasted Chicken (from $34 for half). This was served with crisp oven-roasted potatoes, which were surprisingly addictive.

The chicken was well-seasoned and tender, but we found some parts near the bone undercooked (we feedbacked this). Otherwise, the crispy skin and accompanying vegetables rounded out the dish well.

Another standout was the MBS 6/7 Wagyu Steak ($89) that had three dipping sauces. The meat was prepared to a perfect medium rare; knife-tender and beefy flavour.

Of the three sauces, we liked the Szechuan sauce the most. The added spice helped to cut through any fattiness!

Dessert

The Signature Almond Chocolate Cake ($14) was enjoyable, with layers of chocolate, almond tart and coconut jelly. It felt decadent but not too sweet – although the size did seem small for the price.
