Tina’s Cafe in Everton Park is the newest concept by Edith Patisserie. The sit-down cafe offers a variety of classic breakfast options such as kaya toast, nasi lemak, egg tarts, and Swiss rolls.
Tina’s Cafe Menu
Choose from classic breakfast sets like the Homemade Kaya Butter Toast Set ($6)or the Peanut Butter Toast Set ($6.30), each served with soft-boiled eggs and your choice of coffee or tea.
For a heartier meal, try Tina’s Breakfast Platter with eggs ($14.80), Ham & Cheese ($5) sandwich or the heartier Bacon, Ham & Cheese ($6.50).
For those with a sweet tooth, they also offer a variety of cakes and pastries, including Egg Tart ($2.80), Swiss Roll ($2.80), and Pandan Chiffon ($2.80) Cake.
For a lighter option, try their Pandan Waffles with a variety of spreads like Homemade Kaya ($2.80), Peanut Butter ($2.30), or Chocolate ($2.30).
Chicken Karaage Nasi Lemak
The Chicken Karaage Nasi Lemak ($8.90) came with a side of the usual egg, chilli, sliced cucumber, peanuts, and crispy anchovies.
We liked the fragrant coconut rice, which paired well with the sweet chilli sauce. The anchovies were crunchy but not overly salty, making them a great complement to the chilli and rice.
The karaage chicken was crispy on the outside with a juicy and tender interior. Its well-seasoned batter had a light savoriness that balanced the richness of the nasi lemak.
For the price, we felt that the portion of chicken was a little small, but the overall flavours made it a satisfying dish.
Homemade Kaya Waffle
The Homemade Kaya Waffle ($2.60) was thick and fluffy with a slightly crispy exterior. The kaya spread was generous, offering a strong coconut flavour.
However, a smoother kaya would have enhanced the overall texture.
Orh Nee Toast Set
The Orh Nee Toast Set was our favourite, offering a unique twist on the classic kaya toast. The orh nee filling had a smooth, creamy texture with a natural sweetness that wasn’t overpowering, pairing well with the slight saltiness of the butter.
Served with soft, runny half-boiled eggs, the set made for a hearty and satisfying breakfast to start the day.
Egg Tart
The egg tart featured a flaky, buttery crust with a smooth, custard filling. The custard was milky, providing a subtle sweetness that complemented the crispy pastry.
