Tan Seng Kee Foods designed the meal boxes for maximum convenience. They are halal-certified, do not need to be refrigerated and maintain the same freshness in their ingredients!
The box itself is made with microwave soy-based ink, so you can pop the entire box in the microwave when you’re ready to eat it.
There are three flavours available: Char Kway Teow, Pad Thai and Hokkaido Ramen. Each box is priced at $3.95.
We got to try all three and were impressed with the quality of the toppings. The Char Kway Teow came with its own packet of sambal chilli and had a robust flavour! It cannot beat a freshly wok-fried meal but replicates the flavour profile well.
Our pick is the Hokkaido Ramen. It had a savoury sauce similar to yakisoba, complete with bonito flakes. It exceeded our expectations in terms of flavour, with notable umami and slightly chewy noodles.
With its familiar orange colour, the Pai Thai did not disappoint! The noodles had a good balance of sweet and savoury, with a ting of tang from lime juice. Overall, the noodles are pretty true to their originals but we recommend adding a protein to make it a full meal.
