Tamago-EN: Viral Japanese Fried Sandos Now in Singapore With Sweet & Savoury Fillings

If you’ve been on Japanese foodie social media, you’ve seen Tokyo’s wildly popular cream-filled fried sandos. You can now try them in Singapore at Tamago-EN, offering a takeaway-only menu of these Japanese fried sandwiches in various flavours!

Tamago-EN Sando Menu

The menu features a mix of 9 sweet and savoury fried sandos, all freshly made to order.

On the sweet side, you’ll find the Strawberry Sando ($5.50), White Peach Sando ($5.50), Tiramisu Sando ($5.50), Crème Brûlée Sando ($5.50), and Plain Sando ($3.50).

Savoury options include the Egg Salad Sando ($5.50), Chicken Nanban Sando ($5.90), Curried Shakshuka Sando ($5.50) and Beef Steak Sando ($7.90).

Takeaway boxes are available at $0.30 each, with each box fitting up to two sandos.

Sweet Sandos

From left to right: White Peach Sando, Strawberry Sando, Tiramisu Sando

The Strawberry Sando ($5.50) was filled with fresh strawberries and whipped cream, while the White Peach Sando ($5.50) featured juicy white peaches, walnuts, and cream.

Both were light, refreshing, and not overly sweet, making them easy to enjoy even after a full meal.

The fruits were impressively fresh, adding a natural sweetness that complemented the crispy, golden shokupan bread perfectly!

The Tiramisu Sando ($5.50) featured rich mascarpone cream and coffee-soaked biscuits, finished with a dusting of cocoa powder. While it stays true to the classic dessert, we found it heavy and not to our taste.

We also got to try the Crème Brûlée Sando ($5.50), which stood out with its crisp, caramelised sugar crust. It’s quite sweet, so we only recommend this for those with a sweet tooth.

Savoury Sandos

We tried the Egg Salad Sando ($5.50), which was creamy and satisfying but didn’t stand out as particularly unique.

The Chicken Nanban Sando ($5.90) was one of our favourites! It was generously filled with crispy chicken and complemented by a rich, tangy tartar sauce.

The Beef Steak Sando ($7.90) featured tender slices of beef, though the addition of runny egg made it a bit messy and harder to eat. We did like how the yolk added that extra touch of creaminess to the overall sando!
