The new café space boasts a dark-toned minimalist design, complete with an open concept and a dark turquoise coffee bar. True to its name, the main seating area has small, round tables complemented by plush leather seats and a large group table setting in the center.

The décor also pays homage to old-time Malaysia, with recognisable metal door grills, coffee pots and condensed milk cans. Despite its cool exterior, the mood lighting and ceiling mirrors make the space more comfortable.

The menu offers 26 dishes designed by Executive Chef Sandra Sim, with a lineup of elevated, quintessential Ipoh dishes. Try the signature Ipoh Curry Mee ($20++), available in both soup and dry versions. Each serving comes with fresh made rice noodles in a rich spiced prawn stock and the classic toppings like chicken, char siew and siu yoke (roasted pork belly).

You can also savour other Ipoh hawker classics like Cuttlefish & Water Spinach (S$12++), Ipoh Chee Cheong Fun ($12++) and Hakka Yong Tau Foo ($16++).

For those who prefer something more substantial, choose the White Chopped Kampong Chicken with Sand Ginger (S$20++ half, S$36++ whole) served with a sand ginger sauce or the Whole Fish Otah (S$28++) that features a whole deboned yellow croaker stuffed with their housemade Otah and baked in banana leaf. These are only the highlights of the menu and there are many more dishes to choose from!

If you prefer your coffee dark, there’s the Hero Gero ($5.80++) that is available either hot or as a cold brew. The finishing touch is that each cup comes with a freshly made kaya taiyaki! Small Tables also has an alcohol menu of beers and wines for your choosing to pair with their small bites.
