Seafood Paradise Scotts Square Review: Chinese Restaurant In Orchard For Live Seafood

Quick answer: Seafood Paradise, the restaurant that started Paradise Group back in 2002, relocated from VivoCity to Scotts Square on Orchard Road in August 2026. It’s a live seafood and Chinese restaurant known for dishes like Singapore-style chilli crab and baked pork belly rib, plus a Hong Kong dim sum menu at lunch. Fish and crab prices range from $18 to $29 per weight, while a la carte dishes are $18 to $36.

Seafood Paradise is an establishment in the Chinese food scene in Singapore. Helmed by the Paradise Group, the live seafood restaurant spent over two decades at VivoCity before moving to a new home at Scotts Square in August 2026. This flagship brand is now in the middle of Orchard Road, offering its signature zi-char-style seafood dishes.

What Is Seafood Paradise?

Seafood Paradise is the restaurant that Paradise Group built its business on. It opened in 2002 as a 25-seat coffee shop on Defu Lane, long before Paradise Group existed as a company, and it became the brand that sits at the core of Paradise food concepts.

The menu combines live seafood and Cantonese-influenced Chinese cuisine: crab, grouper, prawns cooked to order, alongside braised, steamed and wok-fried dishes that are familiar zi char staples.

Where Is Seafood Paradise Orchard?

Seafood Paradise is now at 6 Scotts Road, #03-04 Scotts Square, Singapore 228209, a short walk from Orchard MRT station alongside many other restaurants in Singapore. It joins Paradise Teochew, which also already operates in Scotts Square.

The Ambience: Dining Inside Scotts Square

The Scotts Square outlet is smaller but retains the familiar Paradise Group motifs, with a patterned ceiling design, warm lighting and communal tables in an open dining space. It’s comfortable but elevated, making it work for both a family dinner and a corporate meal. There are 8 private rooms available for booking.

The live fish tanks present at the VivoCity outlet couldn’t be brought over here, but the restaurant retains the same approach: only the freshest seafood!

What We Tried

The famed Singapore Style Chilli Crab (from $10.80/100g) is Seafood Paradise’s signature dish. Unlike other restaurants that poach the crab separately from the gravy, they stew their live crab directly in the sauce to create a richer, sweeter flavour.

Their sauce is one of the best I’ve tried! It was balanced: rich, sweet but not too sweet, savoury from the tomato, umami from the seafood, and a kick from the chillis.

The crab is firm, sweet and meaty, the perfect carrier for their gravy alongside the mantou. A must-order if you go to Seafood Paradise.

We also tried their Drunken Prawn ($28/300g, with an additional $5 for this preparation), served in a concentrated herbal broth.

It wasn’t too herbaceous or alcohol-forward. It was sweet and nourishing, with the fresh prawns perfectly poached for a bouncy texture. The staff can even deshell the prawns for you!

If you like bamboo clams, their Scottish Bamboo Clam with Minced Garlic ($18/piece) is another must-order. Served on a bed of rice vermicelli, the clams were clean, chewy and covered in a fragrant garlic sauce.

Finish your meal with their Stewed Ee-Fu Noodle with Seafood in Claypot ($26). Packed with clams, squid and prawn, the noodles retained a good bite while soaking up the briney, ginger-forward sauce.

Their non-seafood dishes like Roasted Chicken in Szechuan Vinagrette Sauce (from $25.80/half) was good too! The tender chicken had a thin, crispy skin, complemented by a punchy sauce. It wasn’t very spicy and leaned a bit sweeter than we liked, but retained the familiar light numbing sensation.

Lunchtime Hong Kong Dim Sum

Seafood Paradise has a lunch dim sum menu with over 20 items to choose from! The selection ranges from classics like Siew Mai ($8.80/4 pcs), Deep-Fried Prawn in Beancurd Skin ($8.80/3 pc) and more. Everything is made in-house and generous with the fillings.

We tried the Steamed Black Truffle Char Siew Bun ($10.30/3 pcs) and Ha Kao ($8.80/4 pcs) and were impressed by the quality and flavour. If you’re looking for dim sum in Orchard, this is a good option.

Seafood Paradise Dim Sum is available Mondays to Fridays, 11.30am – 3pm (last order 2.30pm) and on weekends, 10.30am–3.30pm (last order 3.00pm)

Our Verdict: 4/5

Our verdict for Seafood Paradise Scotts Square is 4/5.

The seafood itself is the star. Everything is consistently high quality across the menu, with the kind of freshness that holds up regardless of the preparation method. Prices are reasonable for Orchard Road for fresh seafood without breaking the bank.

The dining room is comfortable, easy to settle into for a family dinner or a long lunch, and service stayed attentive throughout without hovering. It’s a dependable, well-run seafood restaurant rather than a flashy one, solid enough across food, value, space and service.
