Roll Sushi By IPPUDO: New Sushi Takeaway Concept In Marina Bay Sands With Sushi ‘Sandwich’ & Customisable Maki

IPPUDO has made a debut from ramen with a new concept in Marina Bay Sands: Roll Sushi By IPPUDO! This takeaway kiosk features handy sushi preparations topped with fresh toppings and ingredients.

Roll Sushi By IPPUDO Menu

There are two types of sushi rolls available: Maki and Tatami, a handy sushi ‘sandwich’. Everything is rolled freshly upon your order.

You can choose from 14 flavour combinations in total, ranging from Mentaiko Spam Tatami ($16) to Chicken Kinpira Tatami ($16).

Maki items are topped with various ingredients, from the Hakata Chashu Roll ($19) and Wagyu Sukiyaki Roll ($23) served with poached egg.

There are vegetarian options like the Garden BBQ Tatami ($16) with deep-fried tofu and Zen Garden Roll ($15) with mushrooms and tofu.

If none of these options take your fancy, you can customise your own roll from $18!

Samurai Spice Roll

The Samurai Spice Roll ($17) had salmon and avocado with a topping of shrimp and spicy mayo.

It had a nice combination of textures but we felt it was underwhelming flavour-wise. We liked the spicy mayo, which added a nice creamy kick!

Island Sunrise Tatami

Served with a jammy egg, the Island Sunrise Tatami ($17) had kakiage, a.k.a vegetable tempura. There were pieces of bell pepper and onion tempura.

We liked the crunch from the tempura with a nice seasoning complemented by the creaminess of the yolk!

Overall it was a balanced bite but it would be better with a greater variety of vegetables as it felt a bit lacking.

Custom Maki

We decided to be luxurious with our custom maki and add-on Wagyu ($3), bringing our total to $21++.

Each base order ($18) includes 3 vegetables, 1 sauce and 1 ‘topping’; with meats like luncheon meat and egg available as add-ons.

Our maki order had kimchi, avocado, pickled onions and spicy mayo. Once again, the sauce carried most of the flavour and we wished there was more meat per add-on (it only came with one piece).
