We’re always on the hunt for aesthetic cafes in Singapore and this new one in Clarke Quay has taken the cake for us. POUT Rooftop Cafe is a tucked-away cafe space with stunning visuals, fresh bakes and a varied coffee menu.
Aesthetic Interior
The cafe is on the 6th floor of an understated office building, with the door located right beside the new Meh’r By Inderpal.
It looks exactly like a cafe in Seongsu, Seoul. The large windows, light wooden furniture and mid-modern century decor sealed the deal for us.
The cafe also has an amazing view of the Singapore River cityscape, from Marina Bay Sands to the Singapore Flyer!
With the morning sunlight streaming through the windows, it felt like a dream.
There is a good amount of seating with a communal table and single seating tables. Something nice we noticed was the power sockets at every desk, making this cafe work-friendly!
Unfortunately, the entry gate to the building is code-locked. If you find yourself stuck outside (like we did), we recommend dropping the team a message on Instagram for help.
The staff were also extremely friendly and helpful throughout our time here.
POUT Cafe Menu
The menu is small but focused. They offer two coffee bean blends: Apache (Brazil and Colombia) and Sunbird (Ethiopia, Brazil and Laos).
These are available in Black ($4.90), White ($5.90) and special drinks like a Honeycomb Latte ($7.90) or Peanut Butter Mocha ($7.90).
They have a Matcha menu as well, with a Matcha Latte ($6.90) and Coconut Matcha Cloud ($7.90).
We tried a Sunbird Black and Strawberry Matcha ($7.90). The coffee blend was light but balanced, good for fruity coffee lovers.
We felt the matcha flavour was a bit lacking but really liked the tartness from the berry sauce!
There’s a small dessert menu and bakes goods, baked fresh by the owner’s friend. Items include a Matcha Cheesecake ($9), Kouign Amman ($7) and Pain Au Chocolat ($8).
We got a bit of everything, but the standouts for us were the Almond Croissant ($8) and Matcha Cruffin ($8, a special when we were there).
These were simple, no-frills bakes. The Matcha Cruffin had a thick, slightly sweetened cream that went great with the flaky pastry.
A must order is the Brulee Basque Cheesecake ($8) which had a side of lime yogurt.
The cheesecake wasn’t too sweet with an enjoyable creaminess. But the star was the refreshing tang of the lime!
Despite it being a double dairy dessert, the different flavours worked perfectly.
