We all love Korean street food and you can now get your fix at Pocha Singapore! They offer a K-street food menu with familiar items like kimbap and tteokbokki, plus TikTok’s favourite packet drinks.
Pocha Singapore Menu
The Super Stars menu comes with 8 of their top recommendations. Items include Hangari Bokkeumbab ($10.90) seasoned with traditionally made Korean soy sauce, Pork Bulgogi ($11.90) and even Sindang-Dong Tteokbokki ($10.90).
Other options include Kimchi Pancake ($11.90), Japchae ($12.90) and even Jjapaguri ($9.90)!
There’s also a selection of popular packet drinks from Korean convenience stores! At $3.90 each, the flavours include Jardin Cafe Real Peach Iced Tea, Jardin Cafe Blue Lemon Ade and Jardin Cafe Real Shine Muscat Ade.
Creamy Shin Ramyeon
The Creamy Shin Ramyeon ($12.90) came garnished with luncheon meat and egg, featuring a thick gravy of cream and spicy Shin Ramyeon seasoning. It’s reminiscent of the popular Tik Tok recipe!
Each bite was rich from the cream with the sweetness of added onions. We think it would be less jelak if it was spicier.
Potato Corndog
A street food staple, the Potato Corndog ($7.90) was coated with potato chunks! The first half is mozzarella cheese, so eat it fresh for a nice cheese pull.
The potatoes added a nice crunch and were a great contrast to the pillowy batter, making it enjoyable to eat.
Tuna Kimbap
The Tuna Kimbap ($9.90) is another street food staple. Pocha Singapore’s version include a touch of honey, which we found quite enjoyable! It did not have an unpleasant fishiness and the honey provided a subtle sweet aftertaste.
Sindang-dong Tteokbokki
Sindang-dong is a famous alley in Seoul because of the many tteokbokki stalls lining its streets! The Sindang-dong Tteokbokki ($10.90) is a classic version, topped with cheese (additional $3).
It had a familiar gochujang flavour but we think it could be more concentrated for a better kick and flavour. The rice cakes and fish cakes had a good texture and picked up the sauce well!
Krispy Chunks With Fried Tteok
The Krispy Chunks With Fried Tteok ($11.90) are fried boneless chicken chunks available in Soy Garlic or Gochujang. Before it’s served, the chunks are tossed in a fiery (literal) sauce in a wok for extra smokiness.
Each piece had a great crunchy batter and tender meat, with the smokiness adding a memorable aftertaste. It’s a unique preparation!
Pork Bulgogi
The Pork Bulgogi ($11.90) is also available in different flavours like Kimchi, Hangari or Spicy Jeyuk (spicy pork). We opted for Hangari, a sweet Korean soy sauce.
The meat was tender and had a pleasant caramelised sweetness from the hangari, which went perfectly with white rice.
Hangari Bokkeumbab
Featuring the same hangari sauce, the Hangari Bokkeumbab ($10.90) came finished with a sunny side up.
This was our favourite dish in the menu! Each grain was coated in the sauce, providing a pleasant sweetness and smokiness from being cooked in the wok. The runny egg yolk added another layer of creaminess, plus the saltiness from seaweed flakes.
Budae Jjigae
The Budae Jjigae ($14.90) was generous with its fillings, including pork, luncheon meat, tofu and kimchi. It’s served with a slice of cheese that adds a little creaminess.
This was just the right amount of spicy, with a familiar flavour. We found the broth diluted and think it would taste even better if it was more robust!
Korean Convenience Store Pouch Drinks
You can now relive your Korean convenience store dreams with the selection of pouch drinks! There are 7 flavours available, including two coffees.
We tried the Jardin Cafe Blue Lemon Ade ($3.90) and Jardin Zappo Sweet & Sour Soft Candy Grape Ade ($3.90). Despite the bright colours, both drinks were not overly sweet. It’s a nice addition to your K-street food meal!
