Offtrack: Cocktails & Pan-Asian Food At This Music-Centric Bar With Off-The-Charts Vibes

Conceptualized by the co-founders of local music collectives Darker Than Wax and Ice Cream Sundays, Offtrack is the latest bar/restaurant in Singapore located along North Canal Road.

Music-Centric Bar in Singapore

Offtrack Interior

We’re going to be honest here, the initial reason we were drawn to the establishment was because of the interior. Everything from its exterior to the interior, Offtrack reminded us of a hipster bar in the Itaewon neighbourhood.

We loved how the space was decorated with posters and LPs, alongside a huge disco ball which added to the retro feel. The space had a cozy and warm atmosphere, which was perfect for some drinks and small bites.

There was also a separate area with an open roof, decorated with lights and plants, that felt more private and romantic. If you want a more “interactive” experience, choose the bar seats where you’ll get to see your drinks being made right in front of you.

Walk-ins are welcome at Offtrack, but we highly recommend making a reservation to get the best seats in the house.

Menu at Offtrack Singapore

The menu at Offtrack features small plates that are designed for sharing, as well as a couple of mains.

Pick from items such as their Burnt Chilli Dip ($12) that comes with sourdough bread, Jackfruit Curry ($22), and a Vietnamese Steak Tartare ($24). They also have staples like a Cauli XO Fried Rice ($16) alongside mains such as Fish & Clams ($38), Beef Onglet ($34), and a Babi Bakar ($32).

For drinks, choose from an array of cocktails, beers, highballs, and even wines.

When you visit, one interesting thing to note is that the cocktails are arranged in a way such that they go from least strong to strong. The staff’s recommendation was to start with some light and slowly move down the menu.

Oyster Mushroom

From their snacks menu, the Oyster Mushroom ($8) was served with a side of Avocado Lime Aioli. Each piece was fried to crisp perfection and was not overly greasy. The Avocado Lime Aioli had a distinct avocado creaminess, with the lime helping to cut through any jelak-ness.

Hamachi Carpaccio

The Hamachi Carpaccio ($18) was made with thick, meaty slices of hamachi drizzled with clear namjin dressing and basil oil. The namjin dressing made this dish taste like a Thai one, with the basil oil elevating the sweet and sour flavours of the dressing.

Fish-wise, the texture was really chewy and each slice felt very substantial.

SF Style Garlic Noodles

If you want something more filling, head for the SF Style Garlic Noodles ($14) that’s made with a generous amount of garlic mix. We personally loved the slight bitterness that came from the garlic, but some of you out there might not like it.

The noodles were of an amazing texture, not too overcooked and soft, and were glossy from the oil. We did hope for more parmesan for a hint of extra cheesiness.

Cocktails

The East 8 Hold-Up ($21) was a concoction of Tried & True Vodka, Aperol, Pineapple, Passionfruit & Lime. If you like refreshing cocktails, this is the one for you.

The Charlie Chaplin ($22) on the other hand was a Sipsmith Sloe Gin-based drink made with apricot & lime. This cocktail leaned towards the sweet side but was still equally refreshing with the notes of lime and apricot.

Bar With Amazing Vibes near Clarke Quay

Offtrack is certainly a place with neat vibes. The music-centric bar not only focuses on providing an acoustically enjoyable space but also focuses on providing local and regional DJs and record collectors the opportunity to curate music that doesn’t normally find its place in an F&B setting.

The space is not only perfect for an after-work chill session, but we definitely can see ourselves coming back for a more intimate session with our close friends over drinks.
