We all know VivoCity is a gigantic mall, but it’s just gotten even bigger with the revamp of their Basement 2 area! The space presents over 20 food options with new brands, exclusive concepts and more.
New VivoCity B2 Food Options
The area was previously a car park and has been upgraded to a food haven. Spanning 14,000 square feet, you can explore sit-down restaurants, takeaway kiosks and more.
VivoCity Debuts
An exciting addition is 鬼金棒 カラシビ味噌ら一麺 (Kikanbo Ramen) that hails from Tokyo, making its Singapore debut. Their speciality is spicy miso ramen topped with thick char siu and wok-fried vegetables.
We tried the Toukusei Karashibi Miso Ramen ($20.90) and Ajitama Karashibi Miso Ramen ($17.90). The broth was rich and savoury, complementing their thick chewy noodles well!
Birds Of Paradise also has a new outlet here, offering their botanical-inspired gelato. There are no new or exclusive flavours, but patrons can enjoy more toppings, including house-made Granola ($1.20).
Another interesting addition is Giraffa, a Japanese curry cheese bread chain from Kamakura. Their breads ($5.60) are freshly fried with a nice crunch!
The curry is on the sweeter side but it did well with the stretchy, savoury cheese.
Some other new brands to look forward to include Mister Donut, Yew Kee Speciality, Din Tai Fung and Canton Paradise+!
Fast Food & Takeaway Kiosks
For something quick, opt for grab-and-go options like PastaGo and Encik Tan. There’s also a good selection of fast food eateries ranging from A&W to McDonald’s!
We saw plenty of desserts too, like Chi Cha San Chen, Nasty Cookie and Cake Bar.
Familiar Options
Kopitiam got a major facelift! It now boasts a colourful, retro design and an impressive selection of over 20 food stalls including plenty of halal options.
Something unique is the dedicated bar corner where you can enjoy alcoholic drinks too!
BreadTalk debuts a fresh look as well, with a bright modern interior. This outlet has special offerings of freshly baked mini pizzas and French-inspired desserts.
We tried the Mille-Feuille ($6.70) pastry and Susan’s Crepe ($7.30) that – funnily enough – features basque cheesecake. Both tasted as sweet as they looked, making for a good treat-yourself option!
What To Eat In VivoCity
There are so many more food options in VivoCity now, thanks to the expansion! While you can definitely anticipate crowds, the selection of eateries will leave you spoilt for choice.
