Neighborhood by Ally Singapore: Sleek Coffee and Shakes Bar in Telok Ayer

Hidden within the Manulife Tower building in Telok Ayer is Ally, a fitness and lifestyle studio where people can come for spin classes. The space is also home to Neighborhood, a cafe where people can grab a cuppa or even some shakes after their spin classes.

Fortunately, the cafe is open to the public, so for those that don’t wanna sweat it out, you can just walk in and enjoy the space and coffee.

Must admit that it felt pretty weird going into a space meant for spin classes and just sitting down for coffee since almost everyone was dressed in workout gear.

However, it was worth it. Neighborhood by Ally gives off a sleek aesthetic, with natural sunlight-soaked window seats and bright-lit ceiling lights. We loved how you get a view of trees right out of the window, almost suggesting that you’re not somewhere in the city. Not gonna lie, the interior reminded us of cafes in Korea.

Menu at Neighborhood by Ally

For coffee, Neighborhood has a rather simple menu, with Black 8oz ($3.5) and White 8oz ($4.5) being the main options. There are also oat and soy milk options available for those who are lactose intolerant.

Being a location that conducts spin classes, they also offer 16oz shakes that are great for that boost of energy you need after spin.

You can expect items like Triple Berry Açai ($9), a banana, strawberry, blueberry and spinach blend with other powerful ingredients known as ‘Made for Champs’ ($9) and a kale, spinach, cucumber blend known as ‘I Beg Your Garden’ ($9).

We opted for an Iced White on a hot afternoon which was made using Brazil beans by Brewsmith Coffee Roasters, Malaysia. The specific beans have almond, raisin, toffee, and dark chocolate notes. We felt the coffee was well-balanced overall and had nutty-tasting notes.

Also, special shoutout to their toilet, which might just be one of Singapore’s most aesthetic. Inside, members of Ally Singapore can treat themselves to Aesop products and dry off their hair using Dyson Hairdryers.

Aesthetic Cafe in Telok Ayer

Neighborhood by Ally Singapore makes a nice spot around Telok Ayer for a quick cuppa. We loved how aesthetic the cafe was, with the afternoon sun near the windows making a great spot to just chill. While it might be impossible for Neighborhood to expand their menu options (since it is a spot mainly used for post-spin classes), we do hope to see more interesting menu items in the near future.
