Nana & Friends: Bingsu Cafe In Suntec City That Gives A Free Plushie With Every Bingsu Order

What do you get when you combine bingsu and blindboxes? Nana & Friends is the answer!

The new dessert store in Suntec City offers an interesting proposition: a free random plush keychain with every order of their bingsu.

The cafe boasts a light pink aesthetic, decorated with adorable murals introducing the characters.

Nana & Friends is an original character concept with unique mascots designed by a Singaporean artist.

The five available mascots are Nana, Bunbun, Fluff, Moogie and Grumbo. More characters are slated to appear in the future, but it’s hard not to fall in love with their cute designs!

There are 3 ‘vending machines’ at the front of the store where you collect your orders.

When your order is ready, the machine gives a dramatic reveal with a turning platform, music and an animated backdrop. We found it novel and fun!

Nana & Friends Menu

There are three categories of desserts: Bingsu ($18), Mochi Waffles ($4) and mini Tarts ($5).

Bingsu flavours include Strawberry, Chocolate Caramel and Jiu Xian (a more traditional take).

Every order of Bingsu comes with a free random plushie keyring of a Nana & Friends mascot, mimicking the thrill of opening a blind box!

Mochi Waffle flavours range from Biscoff to Hazelnut Praline; you can choose from over 12 Tart flavours on display.

The selection includes Chocolate Caramel Banana, Passionfruit, Vanilla Bergamont and more!

If you’re craving savoury foods, they offer Quiches like Chicken ($13) and Mushroom ($13).

Bingsu

Their Bingsu is served with an acrylic collar containing cheese foam, which you remove to let it waterfall over the shaved ice.

Every order came ornately decorated with toppings and a jiggly duck-shaped pudding! Everything looked too cute to eat.

We tried the Mango and Matcha flavours.

We preferred Mango, which was refreshing and easier to eat. It had a pronounced mango flavour and a fine, snow-like texture from the ice.

The cheese foam added a subtle salty contrast, but it might be too much foam for some.

The Matcha felt underwhelming as the tea flavour was overpowered by the cheese foam. There was a layer of matcha ganache or cream, but it was a tad too thick.

We think matcha syrup might be better!

We like the experience you get before you even eat the bingsu. The anticipation and excitement of predicting which mascot to get admittedly added to the fun!

Pistachio Praline Mochi Waffle

The Pistachio Praline Mochi Waffle ($4) was generously packed with a creamy pistachio paste.

The waffle had a good texture; soft and pillowy with a crisp outside. However, we didn’t enjoy the taste of the praline.

It might be better with a stronger pistachio or chocolate flavour.

Mini Tarts

From left to right: Earl Grey Vanilla, Chocolate Caramel Banana, Coffee Peanut and Mango Vanilla

We tried 4 flavours: Mango Vanilla, Chocolate Caramel Banana, Nuts Charm (Coffee Peanut) and Grey Grace (Vanilla Earl Grey).

Of the four, the Mango stood out the most to us!

Salmon Quiche

We were pleasantly surprised by the Salmon Quiche ($13). It had a nice smokey flavour from the smoked salmon and a creamy texture. It could do with a bit more seasoning!

Drinks

Unfortunately, we wouldn’t recommend the drinks.

The Ice Lychee Lemonade ($6.50) was way too sour and had little lychee flavour and the Ice Passion Fruit Soda ($$6.50) didn’t have a striking flavour either.

It would be better if they were both more balanced.

Plushie Bingsu Cafe In Suntec City

With a cosy and airy ambience, Nana & Friends is a good spot for a post-meal dessert! We also think the items are reasonably priced for the amount and good for sharing.
