Celebrate the Lunar New Year with Mr Bean’s Pineapple Tarts and Other CNY Goodies

Mr Bean is a household brand among Singaporeans when it comes to soymilk and pancakes. Mr Bean is also very innovative when it comes to pancake flavours. The National Day Pandan Cheesecake Pancake and Christmas Speculoos Cheese Pancake were some iconic examples.

This Lunar New Year, Mr Bean is bringing back their Chinese New Year snacks such as Pineapple Tarts and Macadamia Nut Cookies.

Some other classics include their Vegetarian Bak Kwa, Almond Suji Cookies and Green Pea Cookies. For the year of the rat, there’s a new addition to the menu – heart-shaped Lychee Cookies.

An important thing to note: All the CNY snacks from Mr Bean contain soy.

Our Favourite: Soy Pineapple Tarts

Sticking to their soy concept, the Pineapple tarts are made locally with nutritious soy flour, creamy butter and fresh ingredients. They are also packaged in vibrant, colourful tins making them super presentable whenever someone comes over for house visiting.

Taste-wise, these pineapple tarts are crumbly and not too sweet. We would say it’s slightly on the buttery and creamy side, but not too overwhelming.

Underrated Choice: Green Pea Cookies

As an ingredient by itself, green pea is one of those things that you’ll either love or hate. However, Green Pea cookies are on a whole new different level. These crunchy, sweet and salty cookies make it almost impossible for anyone to hate them.

Mr Bean’s version of these cookies is crunchy and addictive.

CNY Pancakes in Store

If you visit any Mr Bean outlets, you’ll be greeted by the Pineapple Chicken Ham Pancake and the previously released Vegetarian Bak Kwa Eggwich.
