Top Pizzeria In Singapore La Bottega Enoteca Launches New Pizza & Dishes For Second Anniversary

When it comes to pizzas in Singapore, the name La Bottega Enoteca is always part of the conversation. The humble Italian restaurant in Joo Chiat is famous for their handmade pizzas and gelato which has earned them a spot on the Top 50 Pizza Asia Pacific 2023 list!

In celebration of this milestone and its 2nd anniversary, they are adding a few new items to their menu.

Charming Italian-Style Decor

The restaurant space replicates a rustic Italian home, complete with brick walls and wooden furniture. It’s a very welcoming space and even includes trinkets like a typewriter and family photos of Chef-owner Antonio Miscellaneo.

They even have a metal gate to replicate the street-side eatery experience, also acting as a barrier for the al fresco area that boasts a mini wishing well.

La Bottega Enoteca Menu

The new items include the Broccolini ($28/half, $48/whole), an addition to the Newpolitan flavours. This features lemon breadcrumbs, broccolini and sauce from San Marzano tomatoes.

There’s also two new DoubleCrunch flavours, featuring a crunchy and chewy crust. They are the Mortadella ($24/half, $43/whole) served in a sandwich and the Sarde ($28/half, $49/whole) with sardines.

Other additions include Tagliatelle Al Ragu Di Polpo ($42) with octopus and homemade pasta and Cannelloni Di Melanzane ($24) made using eggplant.

Calamaretti Alla Griglia

The Calamaretti Alla Griglia ($25) came with grilled baby calamari, crispy kale and a pea mash. This was the most tender calamari we’ve had, with a pleasant char from the grill. It paired well with the creamy mash and crunchy kale.

Mortadella

The Mortadella ($32/half, $58) came with slices of mortadella ham, sweet potato chips and red pesto atop a bed of parmesan fondue. The visuals were enough to whet our appetite, with a unique puffy crust surrounding the toppings.

We understand why this pizza earned its place on the list – this was easily the best pizza we’ve had. The texture of the crust was superb – chewy and crisp on the outside, with a slightly smokey flavour from the woodfire oven.

Despite the thin crust, it was able to hold the savoury toppings. The sweet potato chips added a nice crunch, complementing the rich salty cheese fondue base. It was delicious, and you can comfortably enjoy a few slices without it being overwhelming.

Arrosticin

The next few items are not new additions, but still showcase the expertise of the restaurant. The Arrosticin ($7/each, minimum 3 pieces) are worth a shoutout. These lamb skewers were not gamey at all, with a tender and fatty bite!

Pappardella Al Ragu D’Anatra

Served with housemade pappardella, the Pappardella Al Ragu D’Anatra ($34) came with cubes of duck meat and orange zest. The pasta was the star of the show, with a great al dente texture and absorbed flavour from the sauce. There was also no strong gamey flavour from the duck, just a rich, fattiness.

Pluma Alla Griglia

The Pluma Alla Griglia ($58) features a special cut of Iberico pork neck called the Pluma (feather), grilled and garnished with deep fried capers.

Just like their other meats, this was tender, fatty and well-seasoned. We found that the fried capers were too strong and salty for the meat, but enjoyed the added crunch.

Seadas

There are also new desserts to try! The Seadas ($14) is a Sardinian pastry filled with cheese and drizzled with honey. We enjoyed the salty cheese and flaky crust, but think it could do with more honey to balance out the savouriness.

Sfogliatella Ricciae Gelato al Parmigiano Reggiano

The Sfogliatella Ricciae Gelato al Parmigiano Reggiano ($16) is an interesting dessert. It features their new Parmeasan Reggiano gelato with olive oil and balsamic. It blew our minds how potent the parmesan taste was! This is definitely an acquired taste as its on the salty side, but we were impressed by the unique flavour profile.

Authentic Pizza In Singapore

We were blown away by the quality of the food at La Bottega Enoteca and understand how they earned their accolades! The pizza is definitely a must-try but all their dishes are well-executed. If you’re ever in Joo Chiat, this is a place to go.
