If you’re looking to experience autumn right here in Singapore, Kreams Krafthouse at Maxwell is the place to visit. Located within Maxwell Chambers, this Autumn Themed Korean Café is definitely not to be missed.

Interior of Kreams Café at Maxwell

Upon entering the café, the staff would take your temperature and make sure you’ve checked in via SafeEntry. During this procedure, you can’t help but to look around the café and just admire the amount of work that went into this.

You can barely see the ceiling with the autumn foliage covering it, from shades of red, yellow to green, it almost feels like you stepped into a secret garden. While the autumn foliage may not be Nami Island standard, it can definitely pass off as a café you might find within the premises of Seoul Forest.

The café is decorated with Korean storybooks and the chatters of some Koreans filled the café making it almost feel like you’re in Korea.

Menu at Kreams Maxwell

Kreams Maxwell serves coffee, tea, and a simple range of bakes such as scones and cakes.

Some stand out items included the Dalgona Latte, Einspanner and Summer Latte.

Kreams Maxwell Café Review

Dalgona Latte

The menu that stood out the most was the Dalgona Latte ($8+). The version here at Kreams is not the one that went viral during circuit breaker. No whipping is involved in this drink. Instead, the traditional Dalgona candy made using melted sugar and baking soda is placed on top of an iced latte.

Took a sip before the honeycomb looking Dalgona started to melt and the coffee is really not bad and well-balanced. Once the Dalgona started to melt into the drink, you can taste a slightly sweeter version of the latte with a bitter, almost smoky aftertaste.

Goguma Latte

While we expected a purple drink to appear, the Goguma Latte ($8+) aka Sweet Potato Latte served at Kreams is not made using the purple type of sweet potatoes.

The Goguma Latte, how do we describe it? It tastes like blended sweet potato with some milk. While it may sound simple, but sweet potato fanatics will love this drink. The drink also had bits of sweet potato which made the drink more fun.

Kreams has quite a few flavours for their scones, such as matcha, chocolate and cranberry. While we wanted to try the Matcha Scone, it was sold out around mid-afternoon. We settled with a Dalgona scone and a Yuzu scone.

Dalgona Scone

Beautifully covered with a layer of Dalgona, the Dalgona scone ($4) looks better than it tastes. While we found the scone itself to be on the dry side, the cream served on the side alleviated the dryness.

One might find it quite difficult to crack the Dalgona layer, but just give it your all and confidently cut through it.

Yuzu Scone

We definitely preferred the Yuzu scone ($4.5) over the Dalgona scone. While we are unsure why the Yuzu scone was less dry, it had a better texture compared to the Dalgona scone.

The Yuzu fragrance and aroma filled our mouths upon the first bite, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

How To Go To Kreams Café at Maxwell?

Kreams is easily accessible via Exit B of Tanjong Pagar MRT. Exit the station and turn left and you should spot the Maxwell Chambers building. The entrance to Kreams is along the main road.

With their first outlet at Duxton reflecting Spring and the Maxwell outlet reflecting Autumn, Singaporeans can now experience both Spring and Autumn without travelling. While this may be the same as experiencing the actual autumn foliage in Korea, it’s still a great way to spend your weekends without hopping on a plane.
