Huggs Collective Maxwell: Aesthetic Collaborative Cafe Space With Fitmeal, Denzy Gelato & More

It seems like Singapore continues to up its cafe game with more aesthetically pleasing places. This year alone, we’ve seen places like Coexist Coffee Co and Cafe Found giving us Korean cafe aesthetics in Singapore. Huggs Collective at Maxwell is one of the latest cafes to open in Singapore, and boy, the place is yeppeo.

Collaborative Space with Multiple Brands

Huggs Collective Maxwell Interior

Huggs Collective at Maxwell is a collective with several brands such as Denzy Gelato, Commune, Samsung, and Fitmeal. In the members’ lounge, you have Samsung phones which act as menus, and a Samsung TV in the event space corner.

For Fitmeal, this is their first dining outlet in Singapore. They’re originally a brand from Thailand, serving healthy and delicious meals. As for Denzy Gelato, you can spot some flavours that are only available in this outlet.

The cafe space is bigger than most cafes in Singapore, with a members’ lounge, window seats, and a staircase-like seating arrangement area. There’s also a pet-friendly alfresco seating area.

Menu at Huggs Collective Maxwell

For drinks, Huggs has the usual classics like Café Latte ($5.80), Cappucino ($5.80), and Mocha ($6.50). They also have a Melbourne version of the Latte and White, which uses a K-Blend instead of their usual H-Blend.

Bakes-wise, you can find the Classic Butter Croissant ($3), Cinnamon Roll ($3.80), and various pies (Shepherd’s, Beef, and Butter Chicken just to name a few). You can also take a look at what’s on display when you’re there.

With Fitmeal present at this Huggs Collective outlet, you can choose from a range of mains. For breakfast, they have Avocado Toast ($12.50), Fit Bowl ($17.50) which is something like their big breakfast platter, and Hearty Oatmeal ($12).

The bulk of Fitmeal’s menu is available from 12pm onwards, with items like Pad Thai with Konjac Noodles ($14.50), Salads, and Fried Tom Yum Rice ($17).

Mushroom Toast

Since we visited the place before 12pm, we chose something from their breakfast menu. We opted for the Mushroom Toast ($12) which was served with a fried egg and 2 pieces of cherry tomatoes.

There was a light fragrance of truffle oil from the stir-fried mushrooms, but we personally felt the mushrooms could use a little more salt. The fried egg was well done with a runny yolk.

Iced White

There was nothing much to complain about their Iced White ($6) which had hints of cocoa notes.

Melbourne White

On a separate visit, we managed to try the Melbourne White ($6) indicated as M White on their menu. At first, we honestly thought the M stood for Medium. Do note that the drink is only available hot.

While the description of the drink mentioned savoury notes of nutty smokiness and sea salt, we couldn’t get much sea salt notes from this.

Pretty Cafe in Tanjong Pagar

From certain angles, Huggs Collective at Maxwell definitely makes you feel like you’re overseas. The space is not only nice to look at but will also probably be a hit among those finding a spot to do some work. (There are charging ports available here!!)

With so many options to choose from, the place is also great for lunch, especially for the health-conscious.
