Tai Wah Pork Noodles

Hawkers' Street- Tai Wah Pork Noodles 1

We tried their Signature Tai Wah Pork Noodles (Dry, $9.90).

The springy noodles were tossed in a tangy vinegary sauce that complemented the tender, well-marinated pork slices. We found the ratio of salty and tangy to be balanced and satisfying!

It came with a side of soup with meat dumplings. The soup was rich and savoury, packed with umami. The meaty dumplings were also well-seasoned! A nice side to the noodles.

Hill Street Hainanese Curry Rice

We tried the Prawn Roll Curry Rice ($6), which included a prawn roll alongside usual curry rice toppings like egg and cabbage. The roll was well-seasoned but not memorable to us.

We did like the curry sauce, that comes with a good spice and creaminess but not particularly spicy. We felt that there could have been more curry sauce too!

Pang’s Hakka Yong Tau Foo

Our pick would be the offerings from Pang’s Hakka Yong Tau Foo! Their Signature Hakka Yong Tau Foo ($7.80) left an impression with their noodles – springy and coated in an addictive, aromatic sauce that’s slightly fatty from the well-marinated minced pork.

The side of yong tau foo was filled with a selection of classic items like stuffed tofu and radish! Their chilli was also good, adding a satisfying kick to cut through the saltiness of everything.

Nikmat Nasi Lemak

The Wholesome Lemak Drumstick Set ($8.90) came doused in a creamy, spicy curry. We liked the included ikan bilis, peanuts and punchy sambal that really elevated the dish!

The chicken drumstick itself was fall-off-the-bone tender, soaked in the rich coconut gravy, which went well with the fluffy rice.

Koung’s Wan Tan Mee

Koung’s Wanton Noodles ($5.90) was a classic comfort food that satisfied our cravings for familiar, homey flavours. We liked the springy egg noodles, which were just the right amount of spicy. The wanton were on the smaller side, but were well-seasoned enough to enjoy with the noodles!
