Good Day is a new stall located in Food Garden at Asia Square offering a selection of customisable grain bowls. This is a good option if you’re looking for a healthy meal beyond boring salads!
Good Day Menu
You can customise your own bowl (from $8.80) or choose from their 5 pre-set options (starting from $7.80). There are 3 main bases: buckwheat soda, romance lettuce and turmeric basmati.
They have over 10 topping options, ranging from Curry Tumeric Chicken, Shoyu Tofu, Cinnamon Sweet Potato and White Scramble – so there’s something for everyone. Good Day provides calories and macros for every dish, which is helpful if you’re tracking your meals.
The pre-set options include the vegetarian Green Day ($7.80) with sambal tempeh, french beans and sweet corn. For something heartier, try the Cheat Day ($13.80) with maple glazed salmon, miso cauliflower and onsen egg.
Happy Day
We tried the Happy Day ($9.80) with turmeric basmati, Balinese chicken satay, harissa carrots, onsen eggs, roasted broccoli, roasted pumpkin and roast broccoli. The serving size is generous and one bowl can easily be split into two meals.
The Balinese chicken satay was well-marinated and had a pleasant herbal flavour. The meat was also relatively tender and we liked that they were in big chunks! It was quite a satisfying meal when combined with sweet roasted vegetables and fragrant rice.
We think the bowl might do better with an additional sauce as it was a bit dry. The options include Creamy Soy Seasame ($1.50), Lemon Tahini ($2) and Truffle Shoyu ($2).
Custom Grain Bowl
There are three custom sizes – Small ($8.80), Medium ($11.90) and Large ($13.80) – which come with different combinations of toppings. We opted for Medium with 2 bases, 2 supplements and 2 proteins.
Once again, the serving was sizeable and we tried their maple glazed salmon, black pepper beef and white scramble. The beef had a nice kick from the pepper and the salmon had a nice slightly crisp skin!
