Glass Roasters: Chill, Laid-back Cafe With Seongsu-dong Korea Vibes Near Clementi

Glass Roasters is the newest cafe to open in the west, specifically in a neighbourhood along Faber Drive, right in between Jurong East and Clementi.

The location might be slightly out of the way but still relatively accessible. Faber Drive might just be the next hip hangout area since Gelato Labo is opening right next door. A new Baker & Cook outlet is also in the works, along with a new Plank Sourdough Pizza outlet just a few steps away.

Glass Roasters Interior & Vibe

Glass Roasters Cafe in Singapore

The cafe shares a space with an upcoming Gelato Labo, occupying around ¼ of the entire floorplan. When Gelato Labo opens, there will be a door that leads to Gelato Labo from the space inside Glass Roasters.

Glass Roasters kept the raw concrete ceiling which I absolutely loved. Along with the minimalistic white tiles and art pieces, this place reminded me of some cafes in Korea.

Details really play a huge part in a cafe.

I sent the photo of the cafe to some friends in Korea, and almost all agreed that it looks like something they’ve seen before in Seongsu-dong.

In case you didn’t know, Seongsu-dong is a hipster neighbourhood in Seoul that houses some popular cafes such as the first Cafe Onion outlet.

For the time being, Glass Roasters can only fit around 6 to 8 people, so do look forward to the opening of Gelato Labo as there will be shared seating. Affogato anyone?

But the limited number of seats is also a great way to interact with customers.

Coffee At Glass Roasters

Glass Roasters uses single-origin Colombia beans for their coffee (at least for this month), but you can look forward to some other options in the upcoming months.

The menu is simple here, Black or White.

The White ($5.50) was served in a stylish glass cup, coffee-wise, it was smooth with nice mellow acidity.

For those who want to opt for an Iced version, that will cost you an additional dollar. Non-dairy options like soy and oat milk cost an additional 80 cents.

Directions To Glass Roasters

There are a couple of ways to get to Faber Drive but the easiest way is to take Bus 97 from Jurong East Bus Interchange and alight at the bus stop Opposite The Infiniti. It’s a short 4 min walk to Glass Roasters from there.

For those intending to drive, take note that there are a limited number of parking lots right outside the café.

Korea Cafe Vibes In Singapore?

While the cafe is not 100% similar to cafes in Korea, the interior did remind me of certain cafe aesthetics in Korea. While the pretty interior was what attracted me in the first place, what stood out the most to me was the chill, laidback environment.

If I ever needed a place to just chill in the future, Glass Roasters might just be one of the places that come to mind.
