Esquina Offering $15 Tapas Every Month Till December 2026, With Fan Favourites From The Past 15 Years

Tapas bar Esquina is celebrating its 15th anniversary with a 6-month-long $15 tapas promotion! Enjoy a rotating menu of tapas classics from their years of service, including fan favourites that might not get a re-run after.

Esquina $15 Tapas Promotion

The tapas will be priced from $15 per dish. Guests will enjoy a complimentary carafe of Spanish wine with every order of six anniversary tapas specials.

We got to try their anniversary specials for May, bringing back popular items like Baked Sweet Potato (2018, $15) with chillis and smoked quail egg and Iberico Pork Jowl (2016, $18) with pickled pear and chipotle mayo.

Chef-Owner Carlos Montobbio has always prioritised quality produce, and his philosophy is obvious in the Ofunato Bay Scallop (2019, $25).

These prized Japanese scallops were seared and served atop an artichoke puree. Despite having minimal seasoning, the scallops were sweet, tender and flavourful.

The Carabinero “al ajillo” (2023, $33) featured a huge XXL Spanish carabinero prawn that’s cooked in their charcoal Josper grill, before being doused in olive oil, garlic and chillies.

This was moreish, with sweet, tender prawn meat and aromatic garlic oil. The best part was definitely the tomalley, which you can soak up with their side of toasted sourdough bread!

The star of the Mini Uni Paella (2021, $28) is the rice – a bed of rich, lobster-infused rice cooked till dry and crusty, before being topped with squid, prawn and uni.

This was very indulgent, with an oily, umami-packed rice that burst with lobster flavour, complete with the brininess of the uni and seafood.

While it will spike your cholesterol, it was worth every bite! The serving size is small(er) but it’s just enough to enjoy the flavours without getting cloying.

The meal ended with the new Tarta al Whisky (2026) with a whisky-soaked cake and vanilla ice cream. There’s a prominent whisky flavour without the kick of alcohol; tempered by the sweetness of the ice cream.

These may no longer be available in June, so come down and try while you can!

We also sampled some of their popular mainstay items, including the Momotaro Tomato (from April 2026 menu) and Grilled Sucrine Lettuce ($16), a stellar dish that highlights the unique but unassuming flavour of Spanish lettuce.

The Tsukune (foie gras, iberico pork, burnt onion, $9) is a must-order. The foie gras was buttery but not gamey, complemented by the tartness of the sherry vinegar onion jam and crisp puff pastry.

This is one of the more well-done foie gras dishes we’ve had!
