Popular cafe Cloudfields in Havelock has collaborated with Chef Takeshi Araki, formerly from one-Michelin-starred restaurant Esora, for a special Japanese-inspired menu selection! This limited-time menu will only be available until end June 2026.
Cloudfields Chef Takeshi Araki Menu

There are two specials by Chef Takeshi Araki, the first being a savoury Fried Chicken + Shiso Linguine ($26).
Inspired by oyakodon, the pasta features a umami-forward dashi sauce with an egg yolk. The sauce was creamy without cream, and we especially liked the peppery notes of shiso throughout.
The fried chicken cutlet added a nice crunch, with a juicy seasoned centre.
There’s also The Roasted Hour ($16), a hojicha cheesecake. Roasty and creamy with a complex tea flavour, it was a pleasant end to the meal.
It was served with a fresh green apple sauce that cut through any richness.
Aside from its interesting food menu, the cafe is popular for its all-wood, architectural-inspired decor that’s equally inviting and picturesque. They also have a sizeable alfresco seating area, which we know would be such a vibe with good weather!
Something we also appreciated was the generous portion sizes, which are consistent across their usual menu items like the Cacio e Pepe Fries (18) and oversized Negitoro + Kimchi Tuna Meltz ($29) that could easily feed four people.
The special Cloudfields Chef Takeshi Araki menu items will be available until end June 2026.
