Chef X: Enjoy Offerings From Home-Based Cooks In Clarke Quay Including Homemade Kimchi & Chirashi Don

The same brains behind Baker X, a permanent space to showcase home-based bakers, will be debuting a new concept: Chef X! This platform is designed for home-based cooks to showcase their offerings and gain experience running a commercial kitchen – so we can enjoy them in a permanent setting.

Professional Cooking Space

Chef X is in Clarke Quay Central, with a small seating area that can fit up to 24 diners. It’s simple but effective and each chef will be given creative freedom on how they decorate the space.

The special thing about the Chef X space is the kitchen space, equipped with professional equipment so the cooks can better scale their operations to meet demand. They also receive mentorship from Chef Isaac Tan, Head of Culinary & Product Innovations for Commonwealth Concepts (CWC), the F&B joint venture between Commonwealth Capital and Far East Organization.

The home-based businesses featured are rotational, but the first four cooks for this year are Royaleys Smoky Boat, Wanting Kimchi, Popo’s Kitchen and Ooomahmee. Each cook will be in Chef X for about 3 months!

Royaleys Smoky Boat

Royaleys Smoky Boat (@royaleys.smokyboat) is helmed by Sydnee Loue, who brings a taste of her Indonesian heritage with grilled banana leaf parcels.

There will also be bentos available for lunch and Kimchi Jjim for dinner, handmade with pork and  6-months-aged kimchi!

Popo’s Kitchen
