Burgs: Halal Burger Joint Back After 2 Years With A 2-Storey Outlet at Bussorah Street

Founded back in 2017, Burgs once had several outlets spread across Singapore. That was until they suddenly shut down their outlets with no indication of when they would return.

Fast forward to May 2025, the Halal burger joint is back with a two-storey outlet right in the heart of Bugis, located along Bussorah Street.

Food at Burgs Singapore

With a bright red branding similar to that of most fast-food joints, the two-storey shophouse can seat up to 100 customers. It’s a very straightforward concept: order from one of the two kiosks and collect your food at the counter.

You can even spot the staff cooking up your burgers. Walk a few steps in and you might even spot your buns freshly baked on the spot. The burger joint uses buns that are baked fresh daily using Danish butter and slow-proofed for extra flavour.

Along with the buns are homemade pickled green chillies, 100% hand-pound beef and house-made sauces. So, almost everything you see is made in-house.

Burgs Singapore Review

I tried The Original ($11.90), which is a classic cheeseburger. While the beef patty uses an 80:20 ratio of lean meat and fat, I had hoped for it to be slightly juicier. However, overall, as a burger, it wasn’t dry thanks to the generous portion of sig sauce, cheese and caramelized onions.

The Big Bird ($11.90) had a crispy fried chicken sandwiched between homemade brioche buns, accompanied by some iceberg lettuce. I actually preferred this because the meat was particularly juicy.

For sides, you have Nuggies ($4.80, $6.30, $12 for 6, 9 or 20 pieces), which are essentially their version of chicken nuggets. However, they look nothing like nuggets, but more like chicken chunks.

From Left: Curry, Ranch, Spicy Kicap Manis, Spicy Nacho Cheese

You can opt for sauces, such as the Ranch, Spicy Nacho Cheese, Curry or Spicy Kicap Manis. My favourite was the Kicap Manis, which was a bit runnier in terms of texture compared to the rest, but had a nice balance of sweetness and spice.

The Ranch was slightly too herbaceous for my liking, while the Curry reminded me a bit of the peanut sauce you get at Satay stalls.

The most interesting beverage option here is their Homemade Black Lemonade ($4.90). I would have loved a carbonated version of this, which would have made a really refreshing treat.

For desserts, they have a Banana and Peanut Butter Pie ($3.90) and a Fresh Mango Sorbet ($4.90). As someone who doesn’t appreciate bananas or mangoes, I found myself going back for the mango sorbet.

Opening Special

Their official opening day is on 23 May 2025, and for one day only, there’ll be a limited time Chilli Cheeseburger, served with a chilli dip and a side of chilli cheese fries.

The first 100 customers who place an order on opening day are also eligible for a free, limited-edition Burgs tote bag.

There will also be a 50% off your second burger on 28 May 2025, in conjunction with International Burger Day.
