Bae.Gal: Trendy Bagel Concept By Swee Heng With Flavours Like Garlic Cream Cheese & Mentaiko Potato

Swee Heng is keeping things trendy with their newest bread concept: Bae.Gal! The bagel-centric bakery in Century Square is offering a selection of sweet and savoury bagels, infused with Asian flavours.

Bae.Gal Menu

They are offering over 30 types of bagels, including bagel sandwiches. The basic options are the Plain Bagel ($2.30) and Multigrain Bagel ($2.60), available with spread ($0.80) flavours like apple and kit kat.

Sweet flavours include the Vienna Butter Sugar ($3.20) and Beetroot Walnut Cranberry ($3.40); or the ever-popular Korean-style Garlic Cream Cheese ($3.60).

For something novel, there are chilled bagels which feel like mini cakes. There’s the Zesty Mango Yuzu ($3.20) with whipped cream and mango and the Pistachio Chocolate & Cream ($4.00).

The savoury selection features Taiwan Yammy Chicken Floss ($3.80) and Nyonya Curry Chicken ($3.60). There are also bagel sandwiches with fillings like Spicy Korean Chicken with Egg & Kimchi ($4.20) and Fish Fillet with Cheese & Egg ($3.20).

Garlic Cream Cheese

The Garlic Cream Cheese ($3.60) came garnished with plenty of garlic, filled with a sweetened cream cheese filling. They don’t skimp on it – we could smell it through the package!

This was our favourite, thanks to the combination of the chewy bagel and pungent garlic fragrance. The cream cheese filling was also not too sweet, making it quite moreish.

Triple Cheese Honey Mochi

For something nice to snack on, try the Triple Cheese Honey Mochi ($3.80). It included cubes of honey mochi from Taiwan, providing a nice sweetness to contrast the savoury cheese.

Mashed Potato Mentaiko Bagel

The Mashed Potato Mentaiko Bagel ($3.60) featured a savoury potato filling, but we think it fell short on the mentaiko taste. It was still well-seasoned enough to complement the bread.

Taro Pudding Bagel

With a striking purple colour, the Taro Pudding Bagel ($3.20) came stuffed with steamed taro and taro pudding. This tasted as good as it looked, with a rich fragrance of taro contrasted by the creamy pudding!

Kaya Peanut Pandan Bagel

Another dessert option is the Kaya Peanut Pandan Bagel ($3.40). The kaya was just the right amount of sweet, good for a pick-me-up.

Bagels In Singapore

Bae.Gal offers a pretty extensive selection that’s designed to please all palettes, and we were surprised by the quality of the dough! A big plus to their cute mascot and logo design. It’s worth trying if you are in the area and looking for a quick snack.
