When we talk about hidden places in Seoul, we mean hidden. Pyeonghwa (평화) was a spot we discovered on Naver Maps while exploring Mullae and we almost missed the entrance!
Super Vibey With Superb Music
Pyeonghwa located flush against an alleyway in Mullae, denoted only by a sign on the wall.
The space is a cafe by day and bar by night, giving a homey but chic vibe. It has fully wooden seating almost like a woodworking store, and a large music player blasting great music.
The only complaint is that it gets very dark because the space is illuminated by small candle lights – but it adds to the atmosphere!
Pyeonghwa Menu
The nighttime menu is small, focusing only on a few alcoholic drinks.
There are Housepour Wines (9,000 won per glass), Sangria (from 9,000 won) and 12-year Aged Whiskey (from 13,000 won).
We got a glass of red wine and a Sangria. The house pour was fragrant but with a notable tannin; while the Sangria was strong but fruity!
They also offer some savoury bites like Pickled Tomato & Fruit with Cheese (토마토 절임과 과일치즈, 10,000 won) and Burrata Cheese With Green Grapes (부라타 치즈 화 청포도, 12,000 won) to pair your drinks.
We got both dessert options – Baked Sweet Potato with Vanilla Ice Cream (군고구마&하겐다즈바닐라, 9,000 won) and Coffee Cream Cake (커피크림케이크, 8,000 won).
Our favourite was the sweet potato! It was warm and sweet, complemented by the creamy ice cream and dusting of cinnamon.
The coffee cream cake reminded us of tiramisu and was designed to pair well with coffee – worth revisiting in the daytime.
Hidden Bar In Seoul
Aside from the simple food and drink, we liked the ambience! As it slowly turned into night, the space became cosy and intimate.
If you’re looking for a quiet spot to chat with friends or escape the noise, Pyeonghwa is a good choice!
