4D3N Gyeonggi-Do Itinerary: Best Things To Do In This Region Only 1 Hour Away From Seoul

The region of Gyeonggi-do is an underrated area, full of activities enough to fill up a week of travel! It includes cities like Pocheon and Suwon which each boast unique cultures, cuisines and landscapes.

If you’re looking to explore this charming region, here’s a 4-day itinerary of Gyeonggi-do as a reference to plan your trip here.

Getting To Gyeonggi-do

The best method of exploring Gyeonggi-do is by private car charter. This option is comfortable and offers more flexibility in the places you can visit. It’s also good for families with children!

If you’re looking for a budget option, you can take the subway from Seoul. 12 subway lines reach the four regions of Gyeonggi-do, making it a feasible option for day trips! This method is economical (with an average price of 1,500 won) but has traveling times of up to 90 minutes.

Day 1 – Pocheon

For the first day, explore the area of Pocheon

Makgeolli making in Pocheon

Begin the day with a Makgeolli-making workshop at Yeoncheon Brewery, where you can learn to make Korean rice wine and even take home two bottles with personalized labels.

Next, venture to Pocheon Art Valley, a transformed granite quarry repurposed into a space for arts and culture. It’s located atop a steep hill so we highly recommend taking the monorail.

Snap pictures at the Quarry Garden, a popular spot for K-dramas including The Legend of the Blue Sea and Melting Softly. You can also explore art sculptures and enjoy a nice mountain view.

Wrap up your day with strawberry picking at Ilkyung Farm. This greenhouse-operated farm lets you enjoy Korean strawberries throughout the year. In addition to strawberry picking (priced at 15,000 won), indulge in crafting strawberry jam, strawberry cake, and strawberry waffles!
