The Affogato Bar Introduces A ‘Round The World’ Series Featuring Countries Like Japan & Italy

The Affogato Bar is Asia’s first standalone affogato concept located in Cluny Court, near Botanic Gardens MRT station. They’ve recently launched a new series named ‘Round The World’ featuring 6 different affogato creations each with their own charm.

Go Round The World With The Affogato Bar

The Affogato Bar - banira uji-cha

We tried the Banira Uji-Cha, which featured heavy elements of matcha. Piecing together a Matcha cake with matcha streusels, azuki red beans, and a scoop of Madagascan vanilla bean gelato served with Fox Tea Uji Matcha, this dessert is bound to be a hit among matcha lovers.

We loved how the different elements added texture to the dessert, with the bitterness of the matcha perfectly balanced out by the sweetness of the azuki red beans and vanilla gelato.

Another creation we tried was the Lamingtons Down Under, which was named after a famous dessert in Aussie. If you’re not familiar with the term Lamington, it’s actually the name of an Australian cake made from squares of butter cake coated with chocolate sauce and rolled in desiccated coconut.

The Affogato Bar’s rendition of the Australian cake has chocolate-coated butter cakes topped with a scoop of toasted coconut gelato and toasted coconut flakes, drizzled in a double shot of Paramount coffee.

A warning, if you’re not a fan of coffee, you might find this on the strong side. The coconut flakes add a nice texture to the dessert, and you get a strong coffee bitterness from each bite.

Here are some of the other desserts available:

The ‘Round The World’ affogato series will be available till October.
