Re-Route Festival Introduces Over 30 Design Collaborations & Workshops At Orchard Road Happening from 26 Sep – 6 Oct

The Re-Route Festival invites visitors to explore neighbourhood through unexpected paths. In 2022, they invited visitors to explore Little India, and this year, Re-Route is happening along our iconic Orchard Road.

Taking place from 26 Sept to 6 Oct, the festival will host over 30 curated experiences, installations, programmes, and other design activations that explore the topic of adaptability.

A good place to start your Re-Route journey would be Design Orchard, which is a spot with several design collaborations. On the first floor, there’s Re-Think, showcasing a selection of innovative products from various brands. Here, you can also witness a showcase of “Rain Ready” curations by Raffles Design Institute students. The designs blend functionality with style, offering fresh perspectives on addressing environmental challenges.

On the third floor, you’ll find a photo exhibition titled ‘Time-Honoured Backdrops’ where photographer Nikko Pascua brings together the old & new of Orchard Road. The photos showcase stylish individuals against backdrops of iconic establishments that have withstood the test of time in Orchard.

Over at Centrepoint, there’s ‘Chairs Reimagined’ which showcases the iconic Kopitiam chairs transformed through creative modifications, highlighting the adaptability of these chairs between design and function. At Cineleisure Orchard, there’s a showcase on ‘Adaptations: Design in Motion’, and one on ‘Nostalgia Play’ at Far East Plaza.

Re-Route Festival: Hidden Gems

Through this festival, you’ll also be able to uncover hidden gems along Orchard Road. You can collect stamps at these hidden gem stops, almost like those you find at Japan subway stations.

Each stamp is also intricately designed for each of these hidden gems, which makes the experience even more meaningful!

Some of these charming spaces include Kurasu “The Stand”, The Projector, and Emerald Hill. Kurasu even curated a special drink for Re-Route Festival!

Once you collect all 8 stamps from these spots, you’ll be able to redeem an exclusive set of keychains of Charrdo, the mascot for this entire Re-Route Festival.

Workshops Available As Well

That’s not all! Throughout the festival, various workshops are available for the public.

You can learn more about the workshops at https://reroutefest.com/events and register for them if you’re interested.
