Over 900 Singaporeans Come Together Online to Sing The Nation’s Favourite Song: Home

Imaged Adapted from Youtube Video: 900-Strong Singapore Virtual Choir sings Home by Dick Lee

Covid-19 has brought about changes in our way of life here in Singapore. With the newest circuit breaker, most of our businesses have been brought online, schools are now conducting lessons online. Food deliveries and online grocery shopping have become the new norm.

With everything moving online, Voices of Singapore has brought over 900 voices of Singaporeans from over 26 countries around the world together – for a virtual choir session. With a message to ask Singaporeans to Stay Home, For Our Home, this heart-warming rendition of Home is indeed a source of strength during these tough times.

The video starts off with familiar scenes of Singapore, followed by Singaporeans of all ages, singing to the familiar tune of Home. In the video, we also spotted local singers, Jasmine Sokko, Charlie Lim, Shigga Shay, Nathan Hartono and Yung Raja singing along.

We’re glad that the circuit breaker did not break the Singaporean spirit. Let’s stay united, stay at home and do our part during this pandemic. During this circuit breaker, it’s a time where the lyrics ‘This is home, truly, where I know I must be’ should be taken literally as well.

Remember to Stay Home, For Our Home.
