The moment you step into the cafe, you are greeted with an explosion of pastel blue, purples and pinks, adorned with hanging clouds and tea pots. Each table has a Cinnamoroll laminate topped with a soft Cinnamoroll plushie. There is even a private room available if you want a quieter celebration, lined with Japanese style tatami mats and zabuton cushions and a Cinnamoroll lampshade!

Kumoya has partnered with Shirley Tan (@littlemissbento) to produce an adorable lineup of dishes, each decorated perfectly to match Cinnamoroll’s baby blue and white palette.

Choose from a selection of appetizers like the Cafe Cinnamoroll exclusive Ocean Fresh Seafood Box ($16.90) that comes with Tempura Ebi, Tempura Salmon, Calamari and Breaded Scallops or the Mini Tater Tots & Sweet Potato Mochi Balls ($13.90). We tried the Ocean Fresh Seafood Box and it came in an adorable Cinnamoroll holder box with a side of tartar sauce. While each element was crunchy and well-fried, it definitely needed the tartar sauce for extra flavour.

For drinks, we got the Floaty Cloud Vanilla Frappe ($13.90) and Floaty Cloud Strawberry Frappe ($13.90) that came adorned with whipped cream clouds on the glass, blue sprinkles and a straw topper; and the Cinnamoroll Hot Chocolate ($11.90) that had an image of Cinnamoroll printed on the foam! The Hot Chocolate was not memorable, but the Frappes tasted as good as they looked. Both were creamy but not to sweet, which made for a decadent pairing with the mains that we got.

Fluffy Dreamland Japanese Seafood Curry Rice

Then came the stars of the show – the Fluffy Dreamland Japanese Seafood Curry Rice ($28.90) and Let’s Fly Cinnamoroll Japanese Salmon Croquette Cream Rice ($26.90). Each dish came decorated to perfection: The Seafood Curry Rice came with an egg ‘blanket’ covering a ‘sleeping’ Cinnamoroll rice mound, two Tempura Salmon pieces and a side of Japanese curry topped with cheese ‘clouds’ and ‘stars’. The Croquette Cream Rice had a sizeable Cinnamoroll rice atop a housemade Salmon Croquette, finished with an ocean of cream sauce (coloured blue with butterfly pea powder).

There are also other options like the Flying Clouds Cinnamoroll Cheeseburger ($25.90) and the Fun With Friends Cold Udon with Sesame Sauce and Assorted Tempura ($26.90), all of which have vegetarian alternatives if you ask!

Cinnamoroll Fluffy Fluff Blueberry Swissroll

We finished with the Cinnamoroll Fluffy Fluff Blueberry Swissroll ($21.90) that came with a scoop of ice cream and an adorable Cinnamoroll macaron! It was sweet and satisfying with whipped cream and a blueberry filling in the middle and a great way to end the meal. You can also get the Cinnamoroll Ultimate Chocolate Molten Lava Cake ($22.90) which comes with a cloud of cotton candy and a Cinnamoroll butter cookie. When we were there, the On-Cloud-9 Cinnamoroll Caramel Waffle ($25.90) was temporarily not available, but we hope its on the menu soon. For our Muslim friends, the menu is not halal-certified but is free from pork, lard and alcohol. Plus, the ingredients are sourced from major Halal distributors and suppliers, so you can enjoy the experience with ease!

All-in-all, the Kumoya x Cinnamoroll Cafe was an immersive and enjoyable experience that’s perfect for Sanrio fans or for those looking for cute photo ops.  Food-wise, we would say the desserts and drinks are worth a visit, and if you’re feeling peckish, you can try the other main food options.

Visit the Kumoya x Cinnamoroll Pop-up Cafe at 181 Orchard Road, Orchard Central, #04-08, Singapore 238896, open from 11am to 9.30pm. Do note there’s a 75 minute dining limit and a minimum order of 1 food item per person.
